It was revealed on Fox FM’s Fifi Fev and Nick this morning that one of its members, show producer Leon aka DJ Shergz, competed on yesterday’s episode but failed to win any money. They also chatted to Todd Woodbridge on the phone.

EDIT: part of the chat with Leon

RETURNING IN 2025

Upfront annoucement:

In 2024, Tipping Point Australia launched on the 9Network and captured audiences nationwide, becoming must watch viewing for Australian families, keeping them on the edge of their seats from start to finish. And this worldwide TV phenomenon is back in 2025.

Tennis legend and 9Network presenter Todd Woodbridge embarked on a new challenge, taking on the role as host of a game show. Not only has he fallen in love with the exhilaration of Tipping Point as he guides the contestants through the game of strategy and luck, Todd has also captured the attention of audiences nationwide.

In each episode three players answer general knowledge questions, trying to win counters which they can play to beat the machine, in order to win mystery prizes and life-changing wads of cash.

Tipping Point Australia is produced by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay Entertainment company) for the 9Network.

Isn’t this just a seat for the audience? Wouldn’t they have already picked the contestants and made them aware beforehand? I don’t think they just randomly pick someone from the audience on the day.

Correct. Applying to sit in the audience and applying to be a contestant are two completely different processes. To apply to be a contestant, you’ll need to fill out this casting form.

I thought so.

@Jack_Baulch2003 Have you done this? Or just the audience form?

That was my initial thought too. A separate process to be on the show, and another in being in the studio audience.

As much as being in the studio audience for most shows is a fun experience, I don’t want your hopes to go down @Jack_Baulch2003 if you got your forms mixed up.

Going by his screenshot, I suspect this is the case.

So wait? I’ve applied to be in the audience?

That’s what the email you posted says.

Is the 1.30 to 6.30 timeslot just for two episodes? That seems a long time what is essentially 90 minutes of actual TV product.

Maybe they film 3 or 4 but rotate the audience through?

Eventbrite website says two sessions each day, a 8:30am and 1:30pm, with two episodes filmed in each. There would be a fair bit of stop tape to remove the fallen counters (after every set of drops), remove podiums of eliminated contestants, stuff like that - it adds up

Don’t be disillusioned Jack - go along anyway and enjoy the audience experience! Website says they are filming through to December and again in February so loads of time to get your application in

I’m not really sure how you didn’t know this?

Even the email you posted isn’t confirmation that you have tickets to the audience. It’s just telling you that if you click the link they attached that you can apply for tickets to be in the audience.

Have you actually received tickets?

None of this says anything about being a contestant though.

I think maybe you should try and contact them if you are still unsure as to what is happening on the day.

Take it easy. He will figure it out.

I’m simply suggesting he contact them directly to ensure he knows exactly what he is in for. As it stands now, from the information he has given us, he is sitting in the audience for the show and not in the running to be a contestant.
