I believe Woodbridge began his television career in 2005, while he also appeared on Dancing With The Stars in 2007.
Jackpot temptation is such a waste of time when the jackpot counter is still on the top shelf.
And then they’ll offer the contestant one counter! I find that quite insulting.
To me, that’s the worst part of the show. They shouldn’t play it all, or offer at least 4 counters if it’s still on the top shelf.
You should only take the temptation if the jackpot counter is one push away from going over the tipping point.
Agree, each drop zone is 4 counters wide. Thus only really a 1 in 4 chance of the counter being in the right place.
A Good Start to Our New Working Week on Tipping Point Australia with Tennis Legend Todd Woodbridge with Contestant Peter Taking Home a Very Nice $20,000 in Cold-Hard Cash.
That is Something that’s Never been Done Before in Tipping Point Australia History.
So how many episodes have they taken to hit the $1m mark then?
On Nine Now they are up to Episode 125. Not sure if that includes repeats or if that doesn’t include any?
I wonder how this trajectory stacks up with Hot Seat / CHASE / DOND / WOF / PRICE IS RIGHT / SALE OF THE CENTURY etc
9Now don’t add the end of week repeats.
Next week there are Tipping Point AUS repeats on Thursday and Friday.
They’ve been alternating between Thurs/Fri repeats and just Fri repeats (fair strategy considering Todd was probably unavailable for much of this year)
So it’s in 1 million given away with 125 episodes so on average $8,000 gets given away per episode?
Don’t forget, in just the second week there was an episode where a nineteen-year-old aspiring AFL umpire took out $50,000 (some of you may remember it).
IIRC, on the first official premiere episode (the one that aired after the Australian Open) the $20,000 was won without the need for the Jackpot Temptation.

Cool
I am currently 5 episodes behind with Tipping Point.
The episode I watched tonight the contestant that made it through to the Jackpot Round got the first 3 categories wrong whereas I got them right. The first 2 were pure guesses the 3rd which was a music question was 50/50. The last 2 categories the contestant answered correctly, whereas I answered incorrectly. The counters that he dropped a couple of them only nudged the jackpot counter. At the end of the Jackpot Round the contestant had banked $3,500 and the jackpot counter was still on the top shelf. Todd played Jackpot Temptation and firstly offered the contestant just 1 counter for $40,000 and then 2, 3 and 4 counters for $20,000. The contestant wanted 5 counters for $40,000, but Todd refused. He then took the 4 counters and pushed the jackpot counter off the top shelf with the 1st counter, but on his last 3 counters the top shelf was pretty bare and the counters were simply filling the gaps. He obviously couldn’t get the jackpot counter over the tipping point and went home empty handed.
This is the part of the show I dislike where Todd plays Jackpot Temptation when the jackpot counter is still on the top shelf. It’s an absolute waste of time when 80% of the time the contestant is obviously going to take what they earnt. He should only play it when the jackpot counter is one push away. I however have a laugh when the contestant is stupid enough to take the temptation thinking they can get the jackpot counter over the tipping point with 4 or 5 counters when it’s still on the top shelf.
So I’m not going to ditch the show. I’ve applied to be on it because when I play along at home I struggle with the Head To Head questions, but in the Jackpot Counter round I get 3 or 4 of the 5 categories correct.
