Live shows in November only? Unless they have top 8 acts instead of top 12, and have double eliminations in one of those weeks? We had double eliminations once before but reducing the number of acts will require Simon Cowell’s approval.

Could air two episodes a week? Maybe? I think seven will strip it 4 times a week. 2 live shows 2 results.

2 live shows and 2 result shows in a week will only hurt contestants as they will be left with little time to rehearse songs, they also won’t have enough time to rest their vocal cords.

Im sure they can sing 2 songs a week. Artists sing 10-20 songs 5 times a week when touring. They can practice weeks before the actual show airs

Or maybe they start in November and end mid December as they had done with Australian Idol.

Could be possible. But I think, unless mistake, Jeffmister said Iggy mentioned it was a 5 week thing. 4 weeks in November. Unless she isn’t mentioning her December commitments

How does an artist who has only had one album released become a judge on this type of show?

She’ll have had 2 albums out by the time this show goes to air. Her second album, “Digital Distortion”, is due out on 29th July.

Fantastic to have Iggy Azalea this year, one of the biggest Aussie artists in the world - especially after we were treated to tired old Chris Isaak last year.

They’ll be hoping she can have another hit and not suffer from the sophomore jinx.

Because that’s what happens to most of it’s contestants?

Which isn’t the sort of experience they would want from a judge though.

Next judge announcement tomorrow. An Australian according to twitter clues.

It’s Guy staying on.

Guy Sebastian Returning. Interesting choice as IIRC, he was critiscised last year for being too tough and not the same judge he was pre-2014.

Australia’s favourite Guy in judge’s seat

Mentoring two past contestants to victory, Australia’s vocal powerhouse signs up for THE X FACTOR 2016.

Guy Sebastian is joining Iggy Azalea on THE X FACTOR for 2016.

“It’s really an honour to be in this role I just love what this show is about, it’s about prepping an artist for the industry.”

2016 will mark Sebastian’s fifth time at the judges’ desk, taking Reece Mastin and Samantha Jade to victory in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

A household name with a recording career spanning over 14 years and a winner of four ARIA awards, Sebastian is also the only Australian male artist to achieve six number one singles.

Channel Seven’s Director of Production Brad Lyons says: “Guy is such a seasoned artist with undisputed chart success; he also knows a star when he sees one. We can’t wait to see what he brings to this new season.”

For the second week in a row the judges were revealed exclusively by News Corp before Seven made the announcement. Were the names leaked beforehand?

They’ve probably done a deal to let NewsCorp announce it first in return for some favourable press coverage later.
