So the show is back on this year. But timing will be tight as there is only three months left for auditions in front of live audience, boot camp and home visits.

Straight after the Olympics? Major promotion of new host and judges during the Olympics?

they are only just announcing preliminary audition dates now? aren’t they usually at this stage in November?
To me that would say the show has been postponed to a 2017 airdate.

Then it could follow the format of American Idol, which held auditions in mid-year before TV broadcasts began early next year. Potentially, The X Factor could split Sunday-Thursday 7.30pm with My Kitchen Rules.

I wouldn’t see why it couldn’t be back before the end of the year. But possibly could just be held back until Easter next year?

Not good because it would go head to head with The Voice. I think it will screen late this year which will be later than last year’s run because of the Olympics. DWTS will probably also run later. Seven have nothing else at the end of the year.

I personally agree that it’s quite possible that The X Factor could air from about Late August/Early September to the end of ratings, especially with a massive promotional push during the Rio Olympics.

If anything, I think Dancing With The Stars is more likely to be resting until 2017 than The X Factor, but of course I could be wrong…

They could run concurrently (as they often have in the past).

Sunday DWTS
Monday & Tuesday X Factor

I believe we can expect an airdate this year. All new Judges, offers are currently out with proposed filming dates

If I was 7, I would be getting a promo to air quickly “X Factor congratulates Dami Im on Eurovision and we’re returning after the Olympics”…just to remind audiences which singing show produces the successful artists!

There must be an announcement of the new judges soon because the arena auditions will be starting on the 29th June, per the email I received today.

I just find out the auditions were also mentioned on the show’s Twitter account on Monday. Were there any promotions on Seven this week (especially during Home and Away, and House Rules)? This year the arena auditions will be held in Sydney only.

First judge reveal tomorrow. Clue on their twitter is:

“International charts they have topped, one of the :fire: names in the :earth_americas: of pop”

Second clue: "Global domination with attitude and flair :nail_care: now one of our team contestants beware."
Who thinks the judges will be revealed on The Daily Telegraph website tonight rather than on Seven tomorrow?

I’m thinking this could be Adam Lambert.

People are tipping Iggy Azalea…hmm

Confirmed on the show’s Twitter account this morning.

Iggy Azalea joins The X Factor - 2016

Australian rapping superstar joins the quest to find the country’s next singing sensation.

This year THE X FACTOR is set to sizzle with one of the hottest music artists of today, Iggy Azalea, joining the judging panel.

Azalea, one of the most successful Australian artists of the past decade, shot to fame in 2014 with her global smash Fancy (featuring Charli XCX) reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then Iggy has gone on to collaborate with some of the world’s biggest artists including Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Hudson.

“I understand what it’s like to have giant dreams and intend to help other young Australians achieve theirs by sharing my knowledge and developing their talent in collaboration with THE X FACTOR”, says Iggy.

Brad Lyons, Channel Seven’s Director of Production, says “THE X FACTOR is bringing Iggy home to Australia. Nobody knows what it takes to break through in today’s industry better than her. With such international success at only 26, our contestants have the chance to be mentored by the best in the business.”

The undisputed powerhouse in producing successful recording artists for the past six years, THE X FACTOR is responsible for launching the careers of Dami Im, Samantha Jade, Reece Mastin, Cyrus, and Jess & Matt.

The judges joining Iggy on THE X FACTOR in 2016 are set to be revealed very soon.

From what Iggy has been saying on her Twitter account, the show will air near the end of the year. Apparently all of the live shows will be in November which suggests the upcoming season will probably be shorter compared to previous years:
I will be there for one week at the end of June and 4 weeks in November so in total this is just a 5week thing.

yes. Auditions this week then live shows for November.
