They all sound great, but I wonder if any will go on to have significant notoriety after The Voice. Hasn’t happened in the past for whatever reason.

That is ridiculous. Wow.

Lighthouse is a great sounding pop track but can’t help thinking that it sounds too much like an Ed Sheeran song than Ethan Beckton.

Cold Stone sounds a bit more original and the song suits Charlie Pittman perfectly. Probably the only song I’d want to listen to again.

Mistakes is a bland track but Ezra Williams probably has the best voice.

Nobody is a boring song even though Tarryn Stokes can sing it well.

But I’m guessing also a way to keep the audience/fans engaged for the fortnight break.

Who will be The Voice in 2023?

A gripping Grand Finale is on the way this Sunday

The Voice Grand Finale is here. Sunday 7.00pm on Channel 7 and 7plus, four remarkable artists take to Australia’s biggest stage in a bid to secure a life-changing dream.

From over 70 talented artists in The Blind Auditions, four phenomenal voices have made it through The Callbacks, The Battles, and a spine-tingling Semi-Final to compete for Grand Finale glory: Charlie Pittman, 28, from Team Guy; Ethan Beckton, 19, from Team Jason; Ezra Williams, 28, from Team Jess; and Tarryn Stokes, 40, from Team Rita.

Guy said: “Charlie inspires me as an artist. He has tenderness, he’s got power, he’s such a great storyteller.” Charlie added: “I know my dad would want me to give this everything I’ve got and really make him proud; I really want to win more than anything.”

Jason declared: “Ethan has something you can’t teach…He has the it factor and an amazing future ahead of him.” Ethan admitted: “I didn’t think in a million years I would ever be here. To win The Voice would be a dream come true.”

Jess explained: “Ezra has a way of engaging and getting through to people’s hearts but also making them want to leap out of their chairs. It’s a magical quality.”

“Winning The Voice would change my life completely,” Ezra added.

Rita said: “Tarryn’s sacrificed time with her kids to make her dream come true. She is undoubtably one of the best singers I’ve seen on a show like this.” Tarryn shared: “I want people to know that they can still pursue their dreams as parents. I really want to win.”

The final four artists will take to The Voice stage for a dazzling duet with their superstar coach, and a spectacular solo performance in a bid for Australia’s vote. Superstar coach Jason Derulo will also take to The Voice stage to perform an unmissable medley of his greatest hits.

Voting is now open for the nation to decide who will be crowned The Voice 2023, taking home $100,000 prize money and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia.

The Voice 2023 winner crowned

Australia chooses Tarryn as Voice champion

Australia has voted former back-up singer and mum-of-two Tarryn Stokes as winner of The Voice 2023.

The 40-year-old powerhouse performer from Melbourne was shocked after host Sonia Kruger announced the life-changing result.

Tarryn said: “It feels amazing, going from The Blinds to being in the Grand Finale and somehow believing that I can do this, it’s just thanks to Rita for believing in me.”

Thrilled, coach Rita Ora replied: “Are you kidding me? You did this. You did this!”

Rita continued: “It’s just incredible, you’re incredible, please answer my phone calls once in a while and just remember this is just the start. I’m so happy for you, well done Australia; thank you so much.”

Alongside The Voice crown, Tarryn won $100,000 prize money and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia.

After the announcement, Tarryn performed her new single Nobody (download/ stream here) as her proud family – husband Paul and kids Archie, 4, and Quinn, 2 – watched on.

Emotional after a surprise visit from her family during mentoring, Tarryn said: “My kids are everything to me, being away from them for so long has been the hardest thing.”

Sharing her struggles with self-doubt and fear that it was too late to step into the spotlight after taking a break to have children, Tarryn reflected: “Maybe I’m starting to see what people have always seen.”

Rita beamed: “It is a dream seeing you flourish after everything you have sacrificed.”

From her first Blind Audition, Tarryn’s vocal prowess enthralled Australian audiences, and superstar coaches Jason Derulo, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy, as Rita flexed from her very first chair turn that she secured one of the best singers in the competition.”

Tarryn’s win secures back-to-back titles for her coach Rita.

Tonight, Tarryn’s mind-blowing final solo performance of Celine Dion’s All By Myself left all four coaches awe-struck as Guy declared her voice “just perfection.”

Rita said: “That is hands down one of the best vocals ever to happen on this show ever, ever, ever!”

In “a moment in history” for Tarryn, Rita joined her on stage for a powerful duet of Tina Turner’s Simply The Best.

Fellow Grand Finalists Charlie Pittman, Ezra Williams and Ethan Beckton soared with show-stopping performances across the series.

I thought either Tarryn or Charlie would win

Yeah. It was either Charlie or Tarryn for me too.

Also Jason Durolo announced that he would be touring Australia in July 2024. So does that mean he might be Judge again next season since they usually start filming in March/April or does it rule him out being a judge

Such a shame they record 4 endings… that just didn’t feel like she or Rita were genuinely excited.
Must be hard to “pretend” you’ve won.

It’s just absolutely bullshit.
Surely they could have got the 4 finalists together
To announce the winner. This needs to change IMO!!

I turned it on for this moment, and thought when they announced Tarryn she was ‘through to the top 2’ based off the reactions. Had to rewind a cpl times. Very underwhelming moment for the GF announcement.

I was quite surprised that Tarryn won, because Charlie had quite a big following on social media so should have been able to gather more votes from his followers.

The two reasons the grand final was pre-recorded were: to suit the schedules of the judges (particularly Rita and Jason) and to allow time to build those large, elaborate sets for each performance. If the producers can get rid of those sets and just rely on the LED screen in the background for special effects, and the judges are willing to travel at short notice, I think next year’s grand final can be shown live.
