The Voice

Seven just revealed that the new season of My Kitchen Rules would premiere on Monday, September 1.

Does it mean The Voice will be down to just one episode per week from September onwards?

They always did that after the blinds. 9 episodes of blinds

Episode Blind Auditions

Song: Glory box by Portishead

Chair turns: Four

Team: Kate

Coaches comments:

Richard Marx: “That was incredible performance. You know, you weren’t just technically fantastic, but I believed every word.”

Kate Miller-Heidke: “That was honestly the coolest thing I have ever seen sitting in this chair. So effortlessly cool and dark and strange and inventive.”

Melanie C: “You killed it. I felt like I wanted to go to your gig. You know, I don’t want one song I want. I want a headline show.”

Cait Jamieson, 19, Bouldercombe, QLD – Her dad was song writer, guitar player and singer. She lost her dad and is doing this for him. She sang a Richard Marx song, but country version of it

Coaches comments:

Ronan: “It was gorgeous. Your choices are amazing. You’ve got a great musical ear, you know, to take those chances and make them work. It’s so special. You’re an artist. It’s a privilege to have you on the show. Wherever you go, I don’t mind, to be honest, because it’s great just to have you on this show.”

Kate: “What I loved about that performance was it was unadorned. It was really moving. You moved me deeply.”

Coming up next week (no show on Sunday due to Seven’s coverage of Brisbane v Hawthorn AFL match)

Monday 25 August

As Blind Auditions near the end, emotions rise. Will Ellaphon, Euan, Olivia, or Brother Angus impress the coaches and earn a chair turn with their powerful, unique performances?

Tuesday 26 August

With few spots left, Bella, Tiffney, and Meg give it their all. Will their bold, unique performances be enough to convince a coach to hit their button?

Just watched last Sunday’s episode on 7plus, and noticed the voiceover guy was featured on the broadcast for the first time this season. He invited someone in the audience to sing during a filming breaks.

Monday’s episode will include a viewer competition to win $10,000 thanks to Finder, according to a new promo shown tonight. You will need to watch the episode and follow the prompts to enter, when you hear the Finder jingle.

Sunday 31 August

It’s the final night of the Blind auditions! Melanie C and Richard have already filled their teams and pressure is at an all time high to win one of the final spots on Team Kate and Team Ronan.

Melanie C features on 7News Spotlight this Sunday, following the auditions episode.

After that episode the show will air on Sundays only starting with The Battles the following week

Ronan and Kate’s team (i think) only have one spot to fill each. So is this Sunday’s show of nearly 90 minutes going to focus on those last two positions? It’s going to be a lot of padding…

Just in case she wasn’t appearing on enough 7 shows already?

Next years Logies will probably list Spotlight as one of the shows she has hosted in the previous year - just like the 30 minute “Logies Red Carpet Show”.

Not much different to Carols by Candlelight and ABC NYE being nominated as Best Entertainment Program,
when they air one night a year.

What’s the point of having the same contestants again and again on reality shows?

Cle Morgan on The Voice tonight has been on Australian Idol before. I still recognise her as a child actor Cleonie Morgan-Wootton from TV series Ship to Shore. Plus she’s an accomplished theatre performer last seen in Matilda, the Musical.

So why is she on The Voice?
