Last year’s winner Tarryn Stokes has written an article about her ADHD journey for the website of Australian ADHD Professionals Association (AADPA).
Glad to see we’re finally getting some coaches performing!
I’ve been watching the UK version and they have the coaches singing something almost every episode, but just an acoustic from their chair, not a full stage performance.
LeAnn sung her classic How Do I Live in the latest Voice UK episode.
The coaches all sang with contestants during the blind auditions.
Rimes rules
LeAnn breaks all rules in a Knockout blow
Tonight on The Voice, superstar coach Kate Miller-Heidke captivated the audience with a stunning rendition of The Cranberries’ classic Linger, while artists from Team Guy and Team LeAnn braved the Knockouts to compete for one of only two places for each team in the Semi-Finals.
In the first Knockout, Team LeAnn’s brand-new duo – Tori and Brad – went up against powerhouse performer Letitia Butler. Throwing the rulebook out the window, LeAnn invited both Tori and Brad, and Letitia to the final Showdown, leaving her with just one open spot for her five remaining artists.
Faced with this tough decision, LeAnn decided to wait till all the Knockout performances were done before awarding the last spot in the Showdown to FIFO worker Reuben De Melo.
During the final Showdown, Tori and Brad had to perform individually due to limited preparation time. Tori showcased her talent with Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood, while Brad delivered a heartfelt rendition of I Remember Everything by Zach Bryan featuring Kacey Musgraves; but it was Letitia and Reuben’s soulful performances of The Best by Tina Turner and Don’t You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia that secured them both coveted spots in the Semi-Finals.
From Team Guy, Jaydin Shingleton, SKŸE and Roland Williams emerged victorious in their Knockouts. They then faced off in a Showdown, delivering standout performance of I Won’t Give Up by Jason Mraz, Anyone by Justin Beiber and Superstition by Stevie Wonder.
Ultimately, Jaydin and SKŸE claimed the final two Semi-Final slots, while Roland was eliminated.
Tonight’s eliminated artists included Cookie Robinson, Amber Sindoni, Laura Glynn, Duncan Toombs, Tori Darke and Brad Butcher from Team LeAnn; and James Vass, Beau Shearer, Roland Williams, Priscilla Stanely and Shannen Wick from Team Guy.

Sunday 7.00pm on The Voice: In the epic Semi Final of The Voice, eight artists go head-to-head to fight for their place in the Grand Finale.
There’s a lot of “outrage” on social media calling the show rigged because this person keeps getting put through and they also happen to be the only contestant appearing in ads for one of the show’s main sponsors.
But I would say it’s more likely that since the show was filmed so long ago and all the execs know who made it through to the grand final, they then struck a deal with that person to do the ads after they already made it through… hopefully.
True but with some they barely sang one or 2 lines of the song, certainly not a full performance!
The first half of tonight’s episode was all about Team LeAnn, while the second half focused on Team Guy, plus Kate’s rendition of Linger by The Cranberries.
I don’t think when the filming took place, the order actually went like that.
During the auditions there was another person who had an ad too but I think that only played once or twice. The ad with Skye has been airing a lot.
2024?
The eight semi finalists for 2024
the 2024 contestant who wishes to remain anonymous, called the interactions between coaches and contestants ‘contrived’.
“We really didn’t have any time to really connect with our coaches,” they said. “They don’t seem to step outside of their characters. They are either told not to get too deep or promise too much because what you see is really uninspired.”
The contestant said because they were with an international coach, they thought maybe time limits and other commitments meant they didn’t get as much quality time, but stated they heard competing artists had a similar journey with the other coaches too.
Before Skye’s performance in tonight’s semi final, Guy showed him a wall of comments on social media that were supportive of his music. However, since the semi final was recorded in April this year, how did people know that he would be competing? I felt these comments were made up.
Great pick up. Makes you wonder who made those “comments”.
I know they filmed four different endings though. Since it was filmed so long ago, and it’s the public voted that choose the winner. Like previous years, they drag out the whole show, but when the winners are announced, it stops quite suddenly.
According to the promo at the end of tonight’s semi final, the super secret international artist was none other than Keith Urban.
Meet The Voice 2024 Grand Finalists
Annie, Jaedyn, SKŸE and Reuben are one step from victory
Tonight, an electrifying showdown saw four incredible artists secure their spot in The Voice Grand Finale.
Annie Jones from Team Adam, Jaedyn Randall from Team Kate, SKŸE from Team Guy and Reuben De Melo from Team LeAnn will compete for The Voice 2024 crown. Before the night was through, superstar coach Guy Sebastian also took to the stage to perform his brand-new single No Reason To Stay.
Kate Miller-Heidke proclaimed Jaedyn Randell had “a gift” while commenting on her performance of Katy Perry’s Wide Awake: “From that very first moment until now, we’ve been witnessing you becoming a star.”
Jaedyn was Kate’s pick for the Grand Finale, while storyteller Tom Leeming departed The Voice after a spectacular performance of Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye feat. Kimbra.
SKŸE’s breathtaking performance of Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now secured his Grand Finale spot, as Guy said: “I think throughout the journey there was just that little bit of a lack of connection. Tonight, it was there.”
LeAnn was “proud” of SKŸE and Kate thought that he was “deeply connected” to the lyrics of the song. Team Guy semi-finalist Jaydin Shingleton left the show after his “soulful” version of Benson Boon’s Beautiful Things.
Walking to stage for her performance, Team Adam’s Annie Jones shared: “I want to prove to Adam that all this styling and mentoring, that it’s all worth it. And I’m really going to try my best to get to the Grand Finale.”
At 16, Annie became the youngest Grand Finalist with her vocal prowess on Love Is A Battlefield by Pat Benetar.
Departing artist from Team Adam, Siena, was “poised, peaceful and lovely, like a flower,” during her performance Jealous by Labyrinth.
LeAnn Rimes, who used her Ultimate Block on Reuben De Melo in the very first episode, dubbed his performance of Wicked Game by Chris Isaak “captivating,” calling him “the epitome of an artist.”
Faced with a tough decision between Reuben and Letitia Butler, LeAnn said: “They’ve both made it so hard for me tonight,” before sending Reuben through to Grand Finale.
Voting is now open for Australia to decide who will be crowned The Voice 2024, taking home $100,000 prizemoney, plus a money-can’t-buy music masterclass and industry recording development package.

Sunday, 27 October on The Voice: The moment is finally here. A show-stopping Grand Finale will see the final four artists take to the stage for a spectacular duet with their superstar coaches, as Australia decides who will be The Voice 2024 champion.
The Voice Grand Finale 7.00pm Sunday, 27 October on Channel 7 and 7plus
Has he sung publicly before? Could that be what the comments are referring to? Not specifically his Voice performances.
The four grand finalists will appear live on Sunrise on Monday morning.
From a article for New Zealand Herald:
Since TVNZ is airing the show a few weeks after Australia (this week is blind auditions 7 and 8), I wonder if the New Zealand Herald is spoiling the results. ![]()
I agree it seemed fake. I tried searching for some of the more unique comments shown, eg saying his voice could help a nation heal, and the first one that was written in poor English and full of emojis, found nothing, though they could be private accounts or since deleted.
It was obvious he was going to be a grand finalist, he appears in every ad break, sometimes twice.
Jaedyn was in the studio on TVNZ Breakfast today, talking to host Daniel Faitaua about her journey on the show. Daniel introduced her as a grand finalist and confessed that his station was far behind in showing the episodes. Jaedyn also paid tribute to her fellow Maoris Letitia and Jaydin who reached the semi finals, and Roland who lost in the showdown.
Jaedyn later posted the interview clip on her Instagram.
