The Voice

Seven has revealed season 14 of My Kitchen Rules will premiere on Monday, September 9 at 7.30pm.

That means after the blinds finish, The Voice will be down to 1-2 episodes per week for the rest of this season.

I notice in the ad break before and after Skye’s performance, there was an Afterpay commercial featuring him trying out shoes in JD Sports, before making a purchase. Had he not had a chair turned, I reckoned that commercial would not have been shot.

(Afterpay is one of the show’s sponsors this year)

Earlier in the episode, Larissa sang Ave Maria while performing on her Bandura. I think her rendition was beautiful and delivered a strong message against Russia’s invasion of her home country Ukraine.

I notice Leann is also a judge on the UK version which just started airing last night.

The Blinds part 10 is on Sunday 8 September with The Battles starting the following Sunday.

Wow. That’s just rude and disrespectful.

Sure is. By the DM to Leann.

The UK & US versions are so different to ours, I find them hard to watch

How long do The Battles usually go for? Is it 2-4 episodes? Then a week or two for semis, then the Final?

From memory, the Blinds are the main draw part of the show, and the rest seem to be rushed.

I agree, I think having 48 contestants going into The Battles is too many. 24 would be better.

Thus I think the judges should EITHER be linited to 6 picks OR they score their 12 picks and only the Top 6 of those go through.

According to my post back in March this year, this season will have three battles, two knockouts, a semi final and the grand final, so seven more episodes after the blind auditions.

EDIT: assuming the show is not shown on October 6 (NRL Grand Final night), my projection has this season’s grand final at either October 27 or November 3, pending scheduling of My Kitchen Rules.

I don’t understand Sonia’s role in this series. Why does she attend 1 or 2 blinds per night and then not seen at others

Busy making 50 million other shows for Seven. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I always just assumed that she must have got some sort of joint deal to do both versions of the show. Might have been cheaper to get her in on 2 versions that filmed close together rather than a season individually.

This has always been my problem with The Voice. The blinds go on for way too long, there are then so many contestants at the next phases and then they cull them super quickly right at the end. It is why nobody from the show is ever that memorable.

The Blinds are my favorite part, but yes it creates issues later in the series when they stretch it out as long as they do.

1 hour 40 minute edition of this show tonight. Very drawn out final blinds show. For what is really for 4 spots.

I’m going to miss hearing “artist walking” from next week.

I think this year has the highest number of New Zealanders coming to blind auditions. I counted at least seven Kiwis over the ten episodes.
