The Traitors

I saw that they are reviewing it on Gogglebox this week. Hopefully it comes across well. A bit of free promotion.

Yeah I think it’s a lot to do with not many people watching 10 the last few weeks. The Amazing Race wasn’t rating well, The Real Loveboat flopped etc. It was also stupid to have it start a week after The Amazing Race ending, it should have been the next night. As Ten having so few viewers in the later part of the week, it doesn’t give a new show a big chance to launch on a Sunday.

Got a very good review on Gogglebox which I was pleased to see.

This squid games challenge would have taken so long to film

If they don’t vote out Angus tonight then there’s no hope for these faithfuls. He’s so obvious. Too many slip ups.

More and more I’m getting drawn into this show.

The Faithful Get Played. Again.

Murdered: Midy

Banished: Olivia (Faithful)

Deceit. Lies. Betrayal. Just your ordinary day in The Traitors mansion.

The breakfast table became a battleground when, not even waiting for food to pass his lips, Matt hounded Theresa, Fi and Justine over eggs, wanting answers behind their vote.

With the conversation soon turning to Angus and the possibility of him being a Traitor, Angus got a little hot under the collar, realising he was definitely the next target.

When Midy didn’t arrive at the table, the schemers also knew their days were numbered.

With $34,000 up for grabs in the challenge, fear of heights were put to the test as everyone was harnessed up with the single goal of making it to the other side of the bridge without dropping. So basically, step on a trap door and you’re a goner.

With $14,000 added to the kitty, it was no rest for the wicked when Rodger handed down yet another challenge, introducing a sweet twist.

Enter The Shield. Get your hands on this baby and you’re not only protected from being murdered overnight, you’re also safe from banishment. Let’s just say everyone got their game face on quick sticks to swim across a lake to grab it.

In a two-horse race between Angus and Nigel, and with a bit of scratching and roughhousing, Nigel came out the victor. With Angus stating murder “did cross his mind”, suspicious were roused by the Faithful.

After another robust session in the Banishment Room, the original Olivia lie came to a head and she was voted out. Another Faithful GONE.

Smirking from ear to ear, The Traitors, Angus, Claire, Nigel and Marielle murdered again with ease. Who will be cut from the game this time? Kate or Justine? Find out when The Traitors continues tomorrow night.

The Traitors. Continues Tomorrow At 7.30pm. Only On 10 And 10 Play.

I hope the show gets renewed because I’d like to see what they do with it after the kinks in the format are ironed out.

Tonight’s episode exposed the major flaw in the format. the format does not give the faithful anything to go off to make their guesses. It’s just relying on someone slipping up and one minor perceived slip up has to be stretched across multiple episodes and discussed to death.

Next season the pot should be allowed to go into negatives, if it’s negative at the end of the season the traitors win that amount, if it’s positive, the remaining faithful win it. So the traitors need to sabotage the challenges and the faithful have some substance to discuss at the banishment.

Yeah agree there clearly isn’t enough for them to go off. I thought that Angus had enough slip ups by now to be an obvious target but then you have Faithful’s constantly shooting themselves in the foot. Matt and Olivia being the targets last night was ridiculous.

It was disappointing to see two traitors (Nigel and Angus) fighting it out in the water for the Shield. A battle between a traitor and a faithful would have been more interesting.

If the faithfuls were not careful, they would be wiped out by episode 10, leaving the traitors to fight for the main prize.

I finally watched the first episode. And I am not going to make this about race. However, I can see why this failed. Firstly 10 didn’t do a good job of promoting it. The concept is good. But there are way too many contestants. And I can’t get my head around Roger Corser. I actually think Aaron Chen would have been perfect for this role.

Have you seen Aaron Chen on Letters and Numbers. He’s alright on that show because it’s light entertainment. He certainly wouldn’t be right for The Traitors. An actor like Rodger Corser is most definitely better suited to host a show like this.

No I haven’t. I just feel Rodger Corser is putting it on too much whereas it is the kind of persona Aaron Chen puts on for his comedy shows.

But this show isn’t a comedy.

It’s meant to be a who dunnit.

Yeah I know. But Aaron Chen is an actor as well. And I feel that light heartedness is something that is missing.

He is not. If you watch or listen to interviews, that’s his personality which is dfferent to the roles he plays.

Maybe I need to listen to him in interviews a bit more then. I just felt it was put on too much.

Roger has some funny lines in later episodes. I thought the line about being a doctor in the first was funny. I think he has the injected the fight amount of humour so far.

I probably need to keep watching. The first episode is just so long and quite boring that I find it hard to get onto the second one. But might again try tomorrow. I am just so glad Paramount has it without ads. I have no idea how anyone here is watching it with ads.

The shorter episodes are better and last nights had an extra challenge.
