Great show, hope it picks up ratings as it goes along.
Faithful Lose Faith.
Murdered: Sandra
Banished: MK (Faithful)
The Traitors have struck again, with the Faithful helping them along by unwittingly banishing one of their own. Here’s what went down in tonight’s killer episode of The Traitors.
Traitors – Nigel, Angus, Claire and Marielle - returned to the scene of the crime, regrouping in the Tower to discuss who would be next on their kill list. With both Olivia and Sandra a threat to their existence, they decided that the formidable force that is Sandra, needed to go.
While the Traitor’s identities remained unknown for now, suspicions were flying around Claire and Angus who worked hard to throw the Faithful off their scent.
Rocking a skivvy like no other human can, Rodger entered the silver bar challenge in style, telling the contestants that they must complete a series of escape-room-like-tasks set up in four carriages to stop the train in under 30 minutes. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the task in time, adding no silver to their loot.
Entering the Banishment Ceremony for the second time, everyone was keen to send MK home, but Chloe’s strange behaviour choosing not to speak, cast suspicion her way. Chloe was last to vote, and with the spirits on her side, she named four people as Traitors - Kashindi, Marielle, Angus and Teresa. But this was just one case lawyer MK was destined not to win. Having receiving the most votes, MK was banished.
Just before MK revealed himself to the group as a Faithful, Chloe asked to leave the room. Has Chloe left the room to consult her spirit guides, or has she left the game for good? We won’t leave you hanging too long, because The Traitors continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play.
Interesting that 10 didn’t show the chat with the contestant who was “murdered” by the Traitors in tonight’s episode. It is now available on the show’s page on 10play.
Yeah that’s the weird thing about the game. What strategy do you use when they could just murder you cause its random. If you subtly acted like a Traitor then the traitors would keep you in but the majority of the group would vote you out. Do they bring out immunity challenges do you cant be murdered?
Yeah true - that is a bit of a gap in the format as getting murdered is almost completely out of your control. There should at least be a way to save yourself in some way. It could be fun if someone each week could obtain safety form murder secretly (not sure how - but would be good if the traitors didn’t know if someone was safe that week), so then if someone with safety is murdered they get to walk in at breakfast and surprise the traitors.
I also wondered when a Traitor gets voted out - do the Faithfuls get to avoid having someone murdered that night? Surely that’s at least some type of reward for eliminating a traitor.
It would make sense to do it this way.
I think strategy will be very varied for this first ever series; but I can see some aspects might make it similar to some strategies used in Survivor. Such as don’t stand out too much, don’t seem to be too much of a game player, gets an alliance and be good in challengers that win the silver for the whole team so you are kept around plus don’t be part of a “power couple”
At the moment it juat plays like a very simple version of Mafia/Werewolf. When I play that game with friends we add things like a Doctor who can choose to save a random person each night and a Detective who can ask for information to assist them. No doubt if this got renewed for additional seasons - we could see similar immunity additions.
I do like the side challenges to build up the cash pool. They have been fairly creative so far.
Another Faithful Bites The Dust.
Murdered: Ethan
Banished: Kashindi (Faithful)
Quit: Chloe (Faithful)
It was another night of betrayal, predictions and murder on The Traitors.
As the Faithful arrived for breakfast, they became increasingly frustrated with their lack of success in finding a Traitor. With nothing else to go on, they latched onto Chloe’s dramatic prediction from the night before, where she claimed that Kashindi, Marielle, Angus and Teresa were the Traitors.
Host, Rodger Corser then joined the room, which surprised everyone as there were still two empty seats. The room then learnt that not only did Chloe leave the game, but a fellow Faithful, Ethan, was murdered.
This news left the Faithful once again, totally mystified by the Traitors motivations, feeling they had nothing but Chloe’s prediction to go on – which was made all the more mysterious by her disappearance.
The players then headed out for the Challenge, which involved them running in pairs across a grassy field, dodging paintballs to claim a silver bar. All players wanted to win, but none more so than Angus and Marielle, who were covered in suspicions and needed to prove their value amongst the group. Angus was shot at the last minute and failed, but on her run with Fi, Marielle pulled off a spectacular performance, winning a silver bar which helped her feel a little bit safer.
Back at the manor, red flags and calculated responses filled the room, with the Traitors casting doubt on other people to draw attention away from themselves. This then led into the Banishment Ceremony, where passionate exchanges caused confusion and chaos.
In the vote, Marielle showed her hand and voted Angus, which sent shockwaves through the Traitors. However, the majority vote went to Kashindi, another Faithful to be incorrectly targeted. When she revealed that she was in fact, not a Traitor, disbelief washed over the room, followed by a feeling of unease knowing one of their own will again be in danger.
Who will be murdered overnight, and who will be banished? Find out when The Traitors continues on Sunday at 7.30pm on 10 and 10 Play.
The Traitors. Sunday, Monday And Tuesday at 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play.
Surprised there wasn’t more made of Marielle’s slip up. Confidently saying there were 4 traitors, although the editing of that scene did seem suspicious.
Tonight’s banishment vote was the closest the faithfuls got to vote out a traitor.
These people have no idea what they are doing. I still don’t understand the Kashindi vote - sure she was one of the names mentioned by Chloe but people seemed far more sceptical of Angus and Marielle (unless that was just the edit but still). Angus for me looks the most obvious traitor. Like how it was mentioned that he isn’t very good at keeping eye contact through various discussions and also the story he made up about Chloe not liking him sounded very obviously made up.
Marielle did a very risky move to deflect suspicion of her. It would have been funny if it actually did get Angus voted out… but now I think she would be less obvious. The traitors do need to switch their vote up time to time and not always be in the same voting block - otherwise someone smart could eventually pick up on it.
Also it looks like next episode there is finally an oppourtnity for someone to save themself from being banished or murdered.
Agree about potential voting block - though we don’t know who they voted out last night yet. I would still try to aim to get out the biggest or smartest players or those who are leading the opinions as they are the most dangerous.
Wikipedia has a page on The Traitors and it lists who the contestants voted out, updated after each episode.
The Traitors is currently in the top 10 for BVOD viewing so perhaps word of mouth is getting some new viewers to catch up on the first few episodes.
That’s good. It’s a really great show and deserves to do better.
For what it’s worth a season high last night !!!
I actually think this season will ended up getting more viewers as time goes on. I’m enjoying it more and more each episode.
Didn’t realise this show had started. Only saw it on The Cheap Seats last night.
Promo fatigue / blindness feels like a big problem for me with these new 10 shows. They started promoing this show at least one full month ago, and it looked interesting at the time. But a month later I just genuinely stopped paying attention to when it was actually starting. Counting down the days might work for some shows, but I feel like it just makes me numb to the promos when it starts that far in advance.
