Facebook trailer…not sure I get the accent, was hoping Gretel was going to be Gretel

Oh dear.

She sounds like she is talking to primary school kids. It comes across tacky. I was hoping that she would take on a bit more of a darker character vibe.

That is Gretel being very Gretel!

It definately comes across as an entry video before you go into a haunted mansion type ride at a theme park.

I’m surprised that they are going full theatrics for the reboot. I know that’s how the US version plays it (Alan in character, reality all-star cast who will be OTT), but with Gretel hosting, I thought they would have a vibe closer to the UK version (with Gretel being closer to Claudia’s hosting - being an eager, if quirky, viewer’s surrogate).

I don’t know if Aussie are the audience to buy into the theatrics and would have vibed better with a more down to earth UK style approach.

wow.. that’s not what I was expecting at all. I assumed Gretel was chosen because we were going to adopt the style of the UK version, which I find far better and more easily watchable than the US version.

If that’s how she speaks and acts throughout the show, I think I’ll find it very hard to watch and take seriously.

Ten getting slammed from every angle.

Like has been said above, it reeks of desperation. I’m now gonna assume this show is getting simulcast

Sadly all signs are now pointing towards this being a repeat of Gladiators, the BBC UK version a hugely successful ratings blockbuster, and the heavily promoted 10 version a massive flop.

Unless I’m missing something, the Gretel video was specifically filmed for the socials and to introduce people to the concept of the show. Even still, it’s hard to judge any type of character on that short of a time - and also when the host plays such a minor role in the overall narrative of the show.

I can’t disagree more. Claudia and Alan ARE the show. As seen with the failure of having Roger host, it’s all about getting the right person.

Simulcast the 3rd Series across all of 10’s Channels except Nickelodeon for the First Week to Maximise Viewership.

I might be in the minority but I don’t mind Gretel playing a character. 10 have obviously seen success in the US version on their platforms and are trying to replicate that for an Australian audience.

I really don’t care what character Gretel plays I like her and really like this show. I am increasingly afraid that it won’t rate. I hope 10 is not streaming it more that twice weekly. It’s really not meant to be a 7:30 p.m ‘tentpole’ show, IMO would be better shown at 8:30 on maybe Wednesday and Thursday. I really hope I’m wrong as I really want this to do well so we get more seasons. Whatever time it’s shown I’ll be watching! And I’ll also be watching the Irish and Canadian versions.

The UK aired theirs 3 times a week at 8pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. But Friday night doesn’t seem to work in Australia.

Their episodes were also longer, an hour with no ads.

Whilst I agree promos for promos are ridiculous and a countdown to it even more insulting, especially with the broadcast itself so far off, but no denying it’s worked. Even if it’s generating negative comment about the approach it’s getting attention - although by the time it airs that interest may be lost.

No doubt too they’ll spoil too much in the promo but unlike in the UK the show probably doesn’t have the luxury of being able to run a promo campaign with no show footage.

Reality TV Has Never Been This Mischievously Cutthroat.

Global Sensation The Traitors Arrives This August For A Wickedly Good Game Of Lies And Deception.

This August, the award-winning worldwide smash hit, The Traitors lands on 10 with the ultimate OG of Australian reality TV, Gretel Killeen, presiding over a manor full of secrets and suspiciously dramatic eye contact.

Twenty-two infamous Aussies, and some of Reality TV’s most strategic minds, will enter Gretel’s grand and gloriously strange manor, where no one will hear them scheme.

The game begins when Gretel selects her Traitors, hiding in plain sight amongst the Faithful.

The Traitors’ mission is simple: stay hidden, spread suspicion and ‘murder’ a Faithful each night. As surviving Faithfuls desperately try to uncover and ‘banish’ the players who are lying straight to their faces, it’s a paranoid race against the clock. But will they sniff out the Traitors before it’s too late?

And Gretel has one very simple rule: Be as naughty as you want to be.

Gretel Killeen said, “Darlings, I have only three tips for these deluded ‘individuals’ as they come to play in my mischievous mansion; leave your good self at home and pack the naughty you, give yourself permission to feel good being bad, and never forget that although you may win the money, I will always win the game.

“They will all arrive as Faithfuls, until I secretly anoint my Traitors. And from there, my dears, they have my full permission to be as devious, wicked and stupendously slippery… as I desire.”

Joining Gretel in her manor are Ian “Dicko” Dickson and Cosima De Vito from Australian Idol, Gamble Breaux from The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Krissy Marsh from The Real Housewives of Sydney, Kween Kong and Rhys Nicholson from Drag Race Down Under, Shane Gould, Kirby Bentley, Henry Nicholson and AJ Antonios from Australian Survivor, Keira Maguire and Alex Nation from The Bachelor, and Cam Merchant from Married At First Sight.

Also joining the game are Rachael Evren and Claudia Bonifazio from Love Island Australia, Josh Packham and Luke Packham from Love Island Australia and The Block, Alvin Quah from MasterChef Australia, Manaaki Hoepo from Aussie Shore, Tully Smyth from Big Brother, Lawson Mahoney from Made In Bondi, and musician Rob Farnham, son of Aussie music legend John Farnham.

Deliciously deceptive. Wickedly twisted. Totally addictive.

The Traitors is a game of strategy, suspicion and spectacular betrayal, where charm is dangerous, trust is risky and every smile could be hiding a dagger.

One thing is certain: this August, being good will get you nowhere.

With its addictive gameplay - driven by treachery, deceit and betrayal -The Traitors has captivated audiences worldwide, leading to adaptations in 40 territories across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand, with multiple returning series and companion shows also commissioned. It was recently named as the top selling new TV format of the decade so far in a recent report by K7*.

The Traitors is produced for Network 10 by South Pacific Pictures. The Traitors (Dutch title: De Verraders) was created and developed by IDTV in cooperation with RTL Creative Unit. All3Media International is responsible for the international distribution of the format and tape sales.

The Traitors.
Coming To 10 This August.
