Apparently the first traitor was revealed via a QR code shown on screen during the first episode of The Real Love Boat tonight.
I saw the QR code over dinner, and couldn’t grab my mobile in time to capture it.
Rodger Corser revealed at 10’s upfronts this afternoon that three more traitors would be revealed soon.

If The Traitors are revealed before it even starts, what is the point of watching the show?

The faithful don’t know who the traitors are but viewers of the show are made aware in the first episode.
So for the first season of Australian version, there would be four traitors and 20 faithfuls.

Five Victorians on a mission to unmask The Traitors are hotel concierge Dirk, 34, fitness instructor Ethan, dancer Fiona, Olivia, a forensic investigator obsessed with solving puzzles, and criminal defence lawyer, Michael who says he can read people within 30 seconds.
Eight players call the Sunshine State home, including cheeky sparky Lewis, who says he will lie with a smile, Paul, 60, a financial investigator, Bachelor of Law student, Kashindi, and social worker Justine from Brisbane. Champion chess player Jack is all about strategy, Matt from the Gold Coast wants to prove real estate agents can have a heart, Craig, a business coach from the Sunshine Coach is fiercely competitive and Sales Manager Angus hopes his hippy laid back surfer vibe will be the perfect cover.
Representing South Australia is model Alex, 24, who admits she’s “sassy and bossy with a dark sense of humour”, while law and international politics student Marielle plans to use her legal debating skills to defend herself.
DJ and sports club president Teresa, 41, is flying the flag for WA while Tasmania is represented by hostage negotiator Nigel, 49, a former photojournalist.
This wildly diverse and competitive group will soon see themselves in a game of deception, suspicion and betrayal where the stakes will only get higher and higher on The Traitors.
Synopsis:
In a mysterious manor, a most dangerous game will be played. A game of deception, suspicion and betrayal where the stakes will get higher and higher.
The Traitors sees a group of 24 players, also known as Faithful, live together in a grand old hotel where they will need to have their wits about them as they carry out challenges in order to win silver bars, contributing to a prize pool of silver worth up to $250,000.
But it won’t be an easy task as there are secret saboteurs in their midst. Some of the Faithful are actually Traitors, and it’s their mission to eliminate the Faithful one by one. The Traitors will work together, conspiring and scheming behind the Faithful’s backs and each night, they will sneak away and choose a Faithful to murder out of the game. The Traitors must remain undetected and pretend to be a Faithful like everyone else.
Meanwhile the Faithful will be on a mission to unmask The Traitors. To do so, everyone will meet in the Banishment Room where they will vote to banish someone from the game. The danger is high for the Faithful as they risk sending one of their own home if they don’t pick correctly. As the banished player leaves the game, they reveal if they were a Faithful or a Traitor.
Along the way, they must compete in challenges to win silver bars that add up to a huge prize of a quarter of a million dollars. If a Traitor makes it to the end undetected, they walk away with the lot but if a Faithful can successfully unmask a Traitor and get rid of them before the final vote, they have the option to take all the prize money or split and share it with their final remaining Faithful.
The Traitors is hosted by award winning and celebrated actor, Rodger Corser and is an Endemol Shine Australia production for Network 10.

The first season was filmed at The Robertson Hotel in NSW Southern Highlands, although there was no mention of that show on the hotel’s social media.
That review doesn’t really give me confidence in this.
Same here, was quite looking forward to the show, will still try it out but seems like an issue with the format rather than 10’s version per se.

83 minutes without ads? I just can’t commit to that much. So frustrating they keep doing this to reality shows.

Same. Was gonna sit down and watch the preview but an hour and a half is too long. Even just for the premiere.

Weird format for the first episode. 50mins in and one contestant that the audience didn’t know was eliminated and now they are doing the challenge??
Interesting that the audience knows who the traitors are from the start. I think it would have been better if it was a mystery. Or at least gradually revealed throughout the series.

The games have begun, after twenty-four deviously competitive contestants arrived at the manor. It is here where they will either live to win up to $250,000, be banished or even worse, murdered.
Welcomed by the man of the manor, Rodger Corser, the contestants were faced with The Banishment Room for the very first time. With a murder scheduled tonight, Rodger confidentially chose four of The Faithful to be the Traitors – Nigel, Claire, Marielle and Angus.
In the Traitors Tower, the newly appointed Traitors met to discuss who would be their first victim, ultimately deciding to murder Vet Nurse, Millie.
Over some bacon and eggs the next morning, the household discovered Millie was toast.
In the dead of night, it was time for the first challenge where contestants compete together to win silver bars that add up to a quarter of a million dollars. Dressed like the Beastie Boys, they managed to dig up all six bars up for grabs.
After a long day of speculation and manipulation, everyone gathered in the Banishment Room with the aim to vote out a Traitor. Olivia and Jack went head-to-head about who has been lying, but in the end, the majority of votes went to Jack. Before he was banished from the game for good, Jack revealed he was in fact a Faithful, shocking everyone.

The TV Tonight review had me going in with low expectations. The first 1/2 of the episode was a bit slow, but most premiere episodes are with all the back stories etc. I enjoyed the banishment room and the traitors chats.
I will begrudgingly give it another chance tomorrow, because I think it could be a format that gets better as it goes. But the premiere could have been done so much better.
I really really enjoyed this! It was slow at the start but by the end I was hooked. It really is like The Mole crossed with Survivor (with the vote outs). A lot of gameplay with the vote too. Looking forward to the next episode.
