The Traitors

Maybe 10 is fast-tracking season 3 of The Traitors US simply because Chrishell Stause is a contestant in it.

Perhaps but i’d say they have more precedent to bring it to local audiences again given they have the prior two seasons available and fast-tracked from ep 7 onwards last year, plus it’s a buzzy show.

Didn’t they show it last year too?

I think last year US Traitors was initially delayed a few weeks being appearing on 10play. Then they dumped the first half of the season and aired the last few episodes in line with the US.

Thanks about to start it now! Really like the change to the rule where it won’t be revealed if they are a traitor or not.

Fantastic interview with Alan Cumming on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show last night. Now I understand why everyone thinks he’s the perfect host for The Traitors and I’d love to see him hosting an Australian version.

Here is Colbert’s chat with Alan Cumming (may have spoilers on the current season of The Traitors US)

I actually think they should try next season not revealing after the round table and having a twist at the midpoint of the season allowing one of the banished to return through a vote.

Alan Cumming is just the best. Loved the kilt joke!

It’s a terrible twist and would have meant less entertaining finales in previous seasons. Canada did it with their latest series and it basically gives way too much power to the Traitors in a game where they have the power throughout. I always thought those final reveals actually and quite fairly swung the power back towards the Faithful at the end meaning if a Traitor does end up winning the endgame they do it by convincing the remaining Faithful rather than being protected by producers.

P.S. Really thought the first three episodes of the US version were poor - such a toxic cast. And whilst Claudia and Alan were on a par for their first season he is now woefully inferior - just hams it up far too much. Meanwhile the UK third series, now halfway through, just goes from strength to strength and shows the huge benefits of casting a group of regular people rather than the same old reality rejects.

I’ve watched all three and didn’t see this? All the people who were voted off did reveal their status as per normal.

What are you referring to with your comment?

I think i misinterpreted. I initially thought it would not be revealed at the end of the round tables. Looks like it won’t be announced whether they were traitors or not at the finale. Not sure of the benefits of this.

“No. 1 most-watched unscripted series in the U.S.”

Thank you for watching!!! #TheTraitorsUS

This would make the Traitor hunting almost impossible. They already don’t have a lot to go on, so without getting any validation on the status of eliminated people would make it more of a complete random guessing game.

It does make the end game much harder. So say there are 5 people in the finale - they then have to whittle the numbers down as much as they are comfortable to end the game. Without knowing if they got out a Traitor or not in the previous vote makes the decisions a lot harder. I don’t mind it at this point because they then really have to trust their instinct based on everything that’s happened in the game.

I thought quite the opposite. The first 3 episodes were very entertaining and I really like this cast. I might be a bit biased because I’ve watched a lot of these people on other shows. I’m particularly loving seeing some of these Survivor players play again. I’ve loved seeing Jeremy and Tony on this and then Carolyn is a breath of fresh air. I think she could go all the way as a Traitor. Bob the Drag Queen has been very entertaining as well. Sure I didn’t like the way that he turned so nasty when the finger got pointed at him but it is making him a great villain. Any good or memorable season of a reality show has good villains.

The only thing that I was a bit suss on was the editing at the end of episode 3 where the Traitors all going into that room. There is no way they would risk all 4 of the Traitors getting caught out like that so early on. The comments of others wandering the castle making points about how empty the castle was felt randomly edited in to build suspense. Surely if there was a good chance of them getting caught, they would’ve discussed it outside the room and just sent one of them in to write the names down.

Ep4 now streaming, they seem to drop about 3pm on Fridays.

Weekend sorted!

Now I know why Zac Efron is trending
