The Traitors

We already knew that the show wasn’t coming back on Ten so its strange they are jumping on this now. Rodger has rightfully taken up other opportunities.

Rodger Corser is back tonight on Nine narrating the latest season of RPA.

I don’t think he’s ever been exclusive to Channel 10 anyway, even if the Aussie networks still have this rather outdated attitude that talent should work for one channel and one channel only.

Almost certain the UK version will return that week too.

Is there any chance ch10 or any of the others will show it, or one of the overseas versions, during the non rating period? It could pick up some additional viewers who hopefully will enjoy it.

They did last year on 10play.

Really wish ten would give this another bash. Love this show and that it is different to other stuff on air.

The Traitors UK smashed its record rating for the season three opener on New Year’s Day, averaging 5 million viewers and peaking at 5.4 million. It was higher than last year’s season two premiere by two million.

I am really looking forward to the new US season. Our version was decent but the US one is even better. This has another great cast, although I am very much over Boston Rob who just did Deal or No Deal Island in the US too. He doesn’t go away.

Given the overseas success, I reckon another network might eventually pick it up (unless 10 still hold the rights for a period?). The format is doing so well overseas that it feels such a miss to not try it again here. They need to air it earlier in the year though and better promote it.

Very overexposed, but he probably doesn’t care while he keeps being offered opportunities.

Was shopped to all networks after 10 didn’t renew for a third season, there were no bites (though reportedly Seven showed interest) despite the formats overseas success.

Presumably they may want to give it a bit more space and build more interest locally, before attempting it again here.

Thinking logically, Nine would be an ideal new ‘home’ for the format if it were to return, IMO. Here’s why:

  1. They have multiple outlets to screen international versions (9Go!, 9Now, Stan).
  2. They need a replacement for The Summit.
  3. Rodger Corser is already under contract with them.

Nine rarely commission outside of sport for both Nine & Stan, they have Golden Bachelor / The Floor as new series for 2025 and Corser was arguably one of the reasons the show didn’t work for 10.

Yeh was never a fan of corser on this. Needs a mischievous host, whereas corser just played cocky.

Noticed that 10 play have recently updated The Traitors US show page with season 3 artwork (premieres Jan 9 in the states) so I’ve got a hunch they’ll be somewhat fast-tracking the new season again to 10 play this year.

I wonder if they’ll do the same with the UK version which launched New Years Day?
