Wow. Just wow.
Crazy ending.
I’m not sure what to think.
How about sams speech at the end. “Why didn’t you just give it to us?”
Why didn’t you share?
I feel like Sam would have stolen it from Blake anyway. It was a lose lose situation for all of them with only Sam making out if any money was given out.
Also channel 10 have saved some cash on a low rating program lol
edit: i dont know how to do spoiler tags
I guess Sam and Blake’s mistake was not to get rid of Camille at 4. They still could’ve done it if they both voted her way.
It just feels underwhelming that nobody won anything. I would’ve loved to see it go to Sam and Blake.
That was really a jaw dropping ending. Brilliant season, though.
There certainly were consequences for the way that Sam and Blake played.
Camille and Blake should have conspired together to get rid of Sam.
Sam, Blake and Camille Steal The Show…For Nothing.
Banished: Sarah, SA (Faithful) and Liam, TAS, (Faithful)
After all they’ve been through, was there still honour amongst thieves? The answer is no. History was made tonight when, in a world first, the final three players standing at the End Game were all Traitors, who ultimately walked away with nothing. Here’s how the epic finale of The Traitors went down….
Confidence ran high among Traitors Blake, Sam and Camille, as they outnumbered the Faithful three to two. The failure of the Faithful to banish the Traitors left the Traitors convinced victory was within their reach.
However, Liam had finally put the pieces of the puzzle together to discover that Sam was a Traitor. Fuelled by revenge, Liam planned to dethrone Sam in the next Banishment. He was confident Sarah would vote with him and plotted to find another vote between Camille and Blake to finally get rid of Sam.
Entering their final day, the final five set out to complete one last mission to add $50,000 to their prize pool.
Upon returning to the hotel, it was a scramble to secure votes. The Traitors all claimed they were sticking together but Sam was worried that Blake would try to get him out once more. He used his signature charm to plead to Sarah and Liam in an impossible attempt to turn the two loyal Faithfuls against one another.
In a last-minute discussion, Sam and Blake cleared the air and attempted to pave a path for both of them to get to the end. In this moment, Blake realised Sam didn’t trust him and revealed he had every right to be suspicious. Blake had been concocting a secret plan to get rid of Sam.
In the Banishment Ceremony, it was a tennis match between Liam and Sam, as Liam came out firing while Sam tried to put the target back on Liam. Blake watched as Sarah revealed her suspicions still resided with Liam which resulted in his banishment.
With the final four left, one Faithful and three Traitors, the Traitors looked forward to an all Traitors end game, banishing the only Faithful left, Sarah.
For the first time in the history of the game worldwide, three Traitors were left standing at the very end. They would need to choose to share or steal the $200,000 of silver. Speaking Traitor to Traitor before the vote, Sam, Blake and Camille all swore to share, but when it came time to reveal, they all chose to steal, meaning they all walked away with nothing. Ouch.
Sam basically admitted he was stealing no matter what, and blake knew that. If Camille was gone, blake would be going home empty handed no matter what. Taking the gamble on Camille sharing was the only play he had available.
IMO, Sam was never going to share and was always going to write ‘steal’. It’s pretty clear he thought he deserved the lot.
Blake knew that Sam would steal, so he had two choices: risk Sam taking the lot, or writing ‘steal’ to hopefully share the prize with him 50/50.
Knowing that Sam would try to double cross the others Camille was in pretty much a no-win situation. Write ‘share’ and she’d get nothing because at least one of the other two would’ve written ‘steal’, or risk writing ‘steal’ and all three getting nothing.
Must say that Camille’s speech at the end was brilliant.
It was an amazing ending but I was simply disappointed that not a single Faithful made it to the final three.
In the end there was no winner, but 19 losers plus a really sore loser in Sam. His manipulation during the competition came back to haunt him.
If there is a third season next year, I really hope the contestants have better decision making, and heed the warnings of fellow competitors, so that all the Traitors are eliminated before the finale, leading to a genuine contest.
Wouldn’t it make more sense if 2 choose to steal, then the one that writes share gets to keep the lot? That would be more in the spirit of the game and more interesting imo.
I think with the current rules, the players’ strategy and risk matrix would always result in 3x steals.
Yep you’re exactly right. The ‘traitor’s dilema’ is actually a really dumb twist because anyone with even a basic knowledge of game theory knows that regardless of whose playing, you should always steal. You could only choose share if you’re 100% certain the others will share too, but even then you should steal because you’ll triple your prize money. If you steal and the others steal you get nothing, but if you share and the others steal you get nothing anyway, so your only rational choice is to desperately hope another player makes an error and shares while you steal.
Yeah great idea this would make things far more interesting and present genuine strategic options.
It also would’ve been slightly more interesting if a 3-way steal resulted in the losing faithfuls sharing the money (not that they deserve it). Game theory would still point to a 3-way steal, but there’s added relational complexity.
I almost wonder if the producer’s knew all this and structured the twist to avoid paying the prize money…
The finale showed that Blake had the better strategy and that Sam was really just on a power trip. Blake was right to suggest eliminating Camille first, although there would have been the risk of either Blake or Sam voting with Sarah at F3 in that scenario. I’m still quite surprised Sarah managed to vote for a traitor when there were only traitors to vote for - thought she’d mess that up somehow.
This game was made for a Prisoners Dilemma style twist though I do think if they’d set up the Steal-Steal-Share being the two that steal go home empty handed and the one who shares wins it would have required some smarter thinking at the end. Also think the traitors should have been given the option to banish once more at final 3 and decide whether to face the Traitors Dilemma as a pair or a trio.
Glad to see the casting call - ratings not spectacular but Ten more than others will trust a show which is well received by those that watch it, even if not many do. If not on Ten though it would be a no-brainer to give it a shot on Paramount+.
They could have got rid of Sam first as Sarah’s vote was obvious but then Sarah had already lost so would Blake and Camille still both write steal? If they voted Camilla off both would have wrote steal. No one was ever going to win. Sarah was just fodder.
The whole season they have said that if a Traitor gets to the end then they get the money. So not sure I feel it’s fair that 3 of them got there by playing a great game but didn’t get any.
It kind of means that going to the end with Traitors is not the way to play the game, and you need to get there with Faithful. Which is silly because the aim of the game is for the Traitors to get rid of the Faithful.
The final decision should have been to split the money at 3 or vote again IMO. That decision should have only been at 2 if it did have to be played (or the last 2 can choose to share without vote). Everyone leaving with nothing just leaves me feeling a bit sour about this season.
Is there a website for a casting call. I recall Rodger (via narration) calling for those who would “backstab their own mother to come next time the hotel opens” (or something like that) … but there wasn’t a link referred to either on the shows or in socials.
Interested to see what show Sam will turn up on next and will be be cast as a villain again.
I was ready to respond to your first point, then I read your second!
Yeah I don’t think this will be the last of him. He made great TV. Survivor seems the logical choice.
Can he cook? Can he renovate? Can he dance?
