Welcome to the most deliciously dangerous game of lies, deception and betrayal. The Traitors is back, and the skulduggery of the Traitors has already seen the Faithful eliminate one of their own.
Twenty players, an exciting mix of charismatic everyday Aussies and much-loved famous faces, met for the first time and banded together to win up to a quarter of a million dollars in silver bars.
There’s Paul, an ex-Navy diver and shark attack survivor; Annabel, an eccentric superfan; Australian Survivor legend Luke; Gyton, star of Underbelly; Sam, a marketing man of a thousand faces, and not to mention a former undercover cop, a former federal agent and a beer salesman.
Moments after being acquainted, everyone was summoned to the Banishment Room where three players were secretly selected by Host Rodger Corser to be the Traitors – Blake, Ash and Sam.
The game had officially started. Everyone was on edge, knowing they walk among those who are plotting to ‘murder’ them. But the Traitors can’t relax either, with all the Faithful, including strategic genius Luke, already working hard to sniff them out.
In the first challenge, both Traitors and Faithful put their differences aside and worked together to start building their prize pool, winning $40,000 worth of silver bars.
This year, they also play for a life-saving prize which protects them from murder. Split into two teams, one member of the winning team would win The Shield. Tonight, Simone succeeded and was safe from murder.
The three Traitors then met in Traitors Tower and revealed themselves to each other for the first time, and a delectable scheming session ensued. At Breakfast, their murder victim turned out to be, lawyer by day and pageant queen by night - Anjelica.
Walking into their first Banishment Ceremony, Sarah and Ash were the two main suspects, but things took a turn when Annabel told the room they were focusing on the wrong type of suspect, throwing out a left field accusation against Corinne.
Gyton had the deciding vote and when he showed his card, Corinne was the first to be Banished, revealing to the Faithful that they had all got it wrong.
Will the Traitors continue to outsmart and deceive the Faithful? One thing is for sure, there will be another ‘murder’ when The Traitors continues tomorrow night.

Great show, pity it will lose in the ratings to the garbage on 7 and 9.
Only two episodes for the first week of the new season.
Why don’t they put it on nights The Voice and The Block arent on?
10 currently has Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly Australia on Thursday nights. I think there are still a couple of episodes left. However, 10’s plan is to show the current season of The Traitors over three weeks, so it may be too late to move Dogs to another night.
DBB could be moved to Saturdays unless it rates well?
I never watched series 1 of Traitors but did see the series launch last night, I thought it was OK. Might give it another go tonight. It seems to be a big hit in the UK but struggles here.
The Traitors is then confirmed for Monday (August) 21, Tuesday 22, Sunday 27 and Monday 28.
Accusations And Speculation In All The Wrong Places.

Things are starting to heat up in the grand old manor.
At breakfast, we met retired undercover detective, Keith, along with ex-federal agent, Camille, who have both decided to keep their past lives secret from the other players.
As the table started filling up, accusations ran wild, with a few of the Faithful starting to focus on Gyton. One seat was empty, with Elias nowhere to be seen, meaning he was the victim overnight.
Host Rodger Corser announced the next Silver Mission was due to start. The teams arrived at their lake destination and were greeted with the challenge of retrieving large puzzle blocks using a rowboat, to then form a pyramid in the allotted time. The red team had their pyramid built with seconds to go, winning them a total of $16,000 or eight bars of silver.
With their second Banishment Ceremony looming, the red team headed to the Armoury and Simone was the lucky shield finder, securing it for the second time.
With no immunity, Gyton knew he needed to plead his innocence. The Faithful weren’t convinced with Gyton’s sincere pitch, believing instead that he is an impressive, award-winning actor. Meanwhile, Traitor Sam was laying the groundwork for his blindside on fellow Traitor, Ash. Knowing that Gyton and Luke were both in the crosshairs of Banishment, he attempted to get them both onboard his vote, but he was greeted with hesitancy.
The Banishment Ceremony was a cloak and dagger affair as Gyton and Luke threw their accusations at each other. But the votes were clear, Gyton failed to convince the Faithful and he was voted out, revealing his own Faithful nature to the group. Gyton still voted for Ash, allowing Ash to know that there is a groundswell against her.
After the Banishment, the Traitors met in Traitor’s Towers. Sam denied spreading Ash’s name, and so did Blake. They speculated on who they plan to murder, and it came down to either Paeden or Paul.

The producers made an interesting decision in picking Ash Pollard as one of the three traitors, possibly due to her personality. But, based on the promo for next week, Ash’s stay on the show may not last long.
This is by far one of the best reality shows in years. It’s a shame that it’s overseas success hasn’t replicated here. Going up against The Voice and The Block never really has given it much of a chance.
They have definitely taken a lot from the first US season this time around . Firstly with 20 contestants / 3 Traitors being same as US (last season was 24 / 4) and also having some celebs on there. The first task was also identical to the US version and having two teams in the challenge with the armory concept is the same as well. I feel like Roger is acting up a lot more too, much like the US host.
Bad casting, too many familiar or recycled faces. I mean Ash Pollard? Huge pass. Might have been better as a P+ exclusive
I think you’re letting your preconceptions cloud your judgement, which admittedly is a problem with casting known people. In reality that is not a huge factor within the show other than adding a layer of suspicion.
The big Shark Tank watermark is blocking a couple of words of the riddles shown on screen in tonight’s task.

Guess Sam is off Ash’s Christmas Card list this year! Tonight on The Traitors, it was an all-out war between Traitors when Ash discovered Sam was the one who lead the attempted blindside against her last Banishment. But this time, Sam’s crusade worked, and Ash was banished. Here’s how the betrayal went down…
Following Gyton’s banishment, Traitor Ash was the first to arrive at breakfast with a desire to uncover who was leading the charge against her. When Luke revealed that it was Sam, her fellow Traitor, she vowed to go after him. But Sam wasn’t phased, he wants to run the game and needs to get rid of Ash to do that, so he doubled down on his plans to blindside her.
The table was set for a Traitor v Traitor showdown, but neither of them realised that Luke was watching closely, gathering intel as his suspicions grew over who could be a Traitor. Meanwhile, the Faithful grew frustrated when they discover Paeden was murdered last night.
Following a combined effort to win $16k in silver to add to the prize pot, Ash’s winning team were granted access to the Armoury, with Liam scoring the Shield. Sam wasted no time in gathering his numbers against Ash. It’s a move that, unbeknown to him, caused Luke and Annabel to grow suspicious that Sam was a Traitor.
Ash and Sam went head-to-head at banishment, but Sam was ultimately victorious, when Traitor Ash was banished from the game. At Traitor’s Tower, Sam and Blake considered whether to murder Paul or Simone, until Rodger offered them the opportunity to recruit a Faithful into their ranks.
Who will they choose to don the red velvet? But the bigger question is… will the chosen Faithful make the jump to the dark side? Find out when The Traitors continues tomorrow night.

I knew Ash Pollard’s stay on the show would not last long. The cast was officially revealed on Sunday May 21, and two days later Ash began posting on her Instagram again.
It was quite funny to see infighting between two Traitors, Ash and Sam.
This worked really well in the US version. Having some known people on the cast (some of them even knowing one another or having been on other shows together before) added an extra angle to the show. I feel like last night a lot of the pre-conceptions of Ash Pollard were leveraged and ultimately led to her demise too.
I think it’s a pretty good cast overall - similar to last season in that we have some more outspoken people and some quieter people.
Sam is playing way too hard though. The strategy of pushing Ash so much may have paid off last season, but now everyone will be much more cottoned on to the concept of Traitors wanting to remove other Traitors. For someone to be that confident that early in the game has to seem pretty obvious.
I also don’t understand what the benefit would be of the Traitors recruiting another Traitor at the expense of a murder? They just got rid of one of their own and have the opportunity to murder someone - meaning 1 less person in the game. Why would they sacrifice that to add someone else into the mix?
