The Traitors

The US version I think.

I’m not a fan of this normally but it did work on the US version having a mix of reality contestants vs newbies.

The problem is here we’ve had too many shows with celebs, return reality contestants etc (especially with The Amazing Race going celeb) so the concept here could very well backfire.

I think they would be filming around now. I started filling a contestant application (that never ended up being submitted) and it mentioned needing to be available April/May.

Please tell me 10 have already deleted George from Bankstowns’ number.

The Sunday Telegraph today reveals the celebrity line-up for season two. It includes Hannah Ferrier (The Real Love Boat), Ash Pollard (former My Kitchen Rules contestant), actor Gyton Grantley, shark attack victim Paul de Gelder, wrestler Simone Williams aka Princess Aussie, content creator Ian Zaro, Australian Survivor star Luke Toki, and Miss International Australia 2022 and lawyer Anjelica Whitelaw.

The eight celebrities will compete against several everyday Aussies to claim the silver bars.

Devious Treachery Is On The Horizon.

Introducing The Cunning Contestants Checking Into The Ultimate Game Of Deception.

A professional wrestler, an actor and a former federal agent walk into a bar…

Who has what it takes to win the gripping game of The Traitors? This season, host Rodger Corser will be joined by new and familiar faces, who are ready to showcase their enthralling gameplay.

Hannah Ferrier, fan favourite from Below Deck Mediterranean and The Real Love Boat is here and wants to win at all costs. Going up against Hannah is Australian radio and television host, cook, author and mum, Ash Pollard, who is ready to play a big game.

From reality stars to actors, accomplished actor Gyton Grantley (Underbelly, House Husbands) is checking into the hotel and hoping his combined set of skills will set him apart from the competition.

Motivational speaker and conservationist, Paul de Gelder, a former paratrooper and navy clearance diver who survived a 2009 bull shark attack in Sydney Harbour, is ready for a calculated game.

Simone Williams, aka, Princess Aussie is a charming professional wrestler originally from Queensland who is stepping out of the LA ring for a treacherous game. She will be joined by fellow Queenslander, content creator Ian Zaro, who has over 2.3 million followers on TikTok.

From challenge beaches to a grand heritage hotel, comes Australian Survivor star Luke Toki, who is ready to try his hand at a new game.

But don’t let these personalities fool you, as they will be competing against some of the most devious players from everyday life. Hailing from Victoria is outgoing, kooky, and highly intelligent customer success manager, Annabel, and former undercover and celebrated police officer, Keith. Also flying in from Victoria is Blake, a beer sales manager and Gloria, a disability support worker who was born and raised in Kenya.

Joining the game from New South Wales is Anjelica, a lawyer who was a representative in Miss International Australia in 2022, and Elias, an insurance disputes manager. Corrine, a nurse and cattle station owner, and Sam, a marketing consultant, are both in the game from Queensland.

Representing the ACT is Camille, who is a mum and a former federal agent, and flying the flag for WA is Roha, who comes from a life of luxury fashion and works hard to play hard.

Coming up to the mainland is Liam, an apprentice sparky from Tasmania who will be joined by two South Australian representatives - Paeden, a graphic designer and Sarah, a clinical psychotherapist.

This diverse and highly competitive group will soon see themselves in the most dangerous game, where the twists and turns will leave you picking your jaw off the floor.

Familiar faces will go head-to-head with civilians in the second season of the most devious game.

Returning for its second season, The Traitors returns with a cast brimming with familiar faces ready to take on the bloodthirsty game of deception, deduction and, of course, murder.

Twenty players, known as Faithfuls, enter a grand old hotel where they’ll live and work together to earn a prize pool of silver bars worth up to $250,000. The only thing standing in the way of that cold, hard cash prize are the Traitors living amongst them.

Scheming together, and sometimes against one another, it’s the job of the Traitors to eliminate the Faithful undetected until they’re the last ones standing. Can the Traitors get away with murder, or will the Faithful uncover their dastardly deeds before it’s too late?

And no one enjoys watching everything unfold like our deliciously devious host, Rodger Corser, who’ll be back to push our contestants to their limits, and throw in a few cheeky twists and turns along the way.

This season is set to be bigger than ever with the cast including some very familiar faces like Australian Survivor All Star Luke Toki, joined by Below Deck Mediterranean favourite and The Real Love Boat star Hannah Ferrier, and radio and TV host, cook and author Ash Pollard.

Joining them is social media star Ian Zaro, and motivational speaker, conservationist and former paratrooper and Navy Clearance Diver Paul de Gelder who, in 2009, survived an attack by a 9ft bull shark attack in Sydney Harbour where he lost two limbs.

Underbelly star Gyton Grantley could use his acting skills in a myriad of ways, or if brute strength is more your style, famed professional wrestler Simone Williams — aka Princess Aussie — will also be along for the ride.

Each of these players possess their own individual advantages, but could a familiar face also mean a bigger target on your back?

Checking into the hotel alongside this eclectic bunch is Keith, a former undercover police officer, former federal agent Camille, nurse and cattle station owner Corinne, and Clinical Psychotherapist Sarah.

These everyday Aussies shouldn’t be underestimated, or trusted for that matter, like Blake a Beer Sales Manager, or Gloria a Disability Support Worker. They’re joined by Roha, who is leaving a life of luxury fashion behind for a bloodthirsty experience of a lifetime. Plus the Traitors’ robes really are glam.

Rounding out the Season 2 cast is Anjelica, a lawyer and representative in Miss International Australia in 2022, Insurance Disputes Manager Elias, Marketing Consultant Sam, Liam the apprentice sparky, Graphic Designer Paeden, and Customer Success Manager Annabel.

These 20 contestants will have to be at the top of their game and be ready to lie, cheat, and even murder to make sure they’re standing at the end with that glittering prize of silver bars. We can’t wait to see how this all turns out.

vs The Block vs The Voice

Fantastic. All shows starting with ‘The (BLANK)’. How creative.

Can’t wait until someone comes up with a show titled The The. Although the band might have copyrighted the name.

The ads for this show are still not really selling it, I think maybe that’s one of the reasons why the first season failed to fire and they really needed to get it right this time around. I hope the show finds more of an audience this year and I really want to like it, but I’m not sold yet.

Yeh ten are usually good at promos but traitors and TGYH have been very weak

Saw they’d been doing pop-up reviews on the in-programme promos but presumably they are mainly for the UK and US version rather than the Aussie version.

It is certainly a show where 10 got in early and it didn’t really fire ratings wise (but showed the formats potential) but it’s success abroad led to it being the hot new format so secured it a second chance.

Some of the comments are about the international versions, but some of it is international audiences reacting to seeing the Aussie version.

Will be interesting to see how it goes the second time around, they’ve also brought it forward in the schedule by about 2 months but it’s got some big competition with The Block / The Voice.

I was thinking that maybe it’s better suited to a later slot, say Wed / Thur at 8:30/9:00pm when they don’t have Dramas or Gogglebox on air.

The trouble is the way the Aussie FTAs schedule their big shows it they’ve basically reduced themselves to having one slot a week where everything goes head to head and then everything in the later slot or later in the week is treated as little more than filler.

In any other country even if airing three times a week channels would be able to schedule their big shows to not really clash with each other.

In a mysterious manor, a most dangerous game will be played. A game of deception, suspicion and betrayal in which the stakes will get higher and higher.

The Traitors sees a group of 20 players, also known as Faithfuls, live together in a grand old hotel where they will need to have their wits about them as they carry out challenges in order to win silver bars, contributing to a prize pool of silver worth up to $250,000.

But it won’t be an easy task as there are secret saboteurs in their midst. Some of the Faithfuls are actually Traitors and it’s their mission to eliminate the Faithfuls one by one. The Traitors will work together, conspiring and scheming behind the Faithful’s backs and each night, they will sneak away and choose a Faithful to murder out of the game. The Traitors must remain undetected and pretend to be a Faithful like everyone else.

Meanwhile, the Faithfuls will be on a mission to unmask the Traitors. To do so, everyone will meet in the Banishment Room where they will vote to banish someone from the game. The danger is high for the Faithfuls as they risk sending one of their own home if they don’t pick correctly. As the banished player leaves the game, they reveal if they were a Faithful or a Traitor.

Along the way, they must compete in challenges to win silver bars that add up to a huge prize of a quarter of a million dollars. If a Traitor makes it to the end undetected, they walk away with the lot, but if a Faithful can successfully unmask a Traitor and get rid of them before the final vote, they have the option to take all the prize money or split and share it with their final remaining Faithful.

The Traitors is produced for Network 10 by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay Company), based on the format devised by IDTV, PosVideo and RTL and distributed by All3Media International.
