The Real Housewives of Melbourne/Sydney

It’s been what 5-6 years since RHOS? Why even bother.

Just put the resources in RHOM where it’s still fresh in the audiences minds. It was a year in December when it was last aired. Foxtel can’t keep altering between the two. Just pick one and stick with it.

Wasnt the last Melbourne season a bit of a flop? They’re probably looking for something different.

There’s nothing that shows off how incompetent Foxtel is like the constant bungling of RHO in this country,

If going for a new season outside Melbourne they should just do a complete fresh new cast or new location. I don’t see the point in bringing back 2 cast members that weren’t really that memorable either.

I thought the last season was ok but definitely wasn’t the same without Gina and Lydia. It also filmed a lot during Covid and lockdowns, so a lot of the settings felt restricted and forced. There was also way too much of a division between the old and new cast (with the exception of Simone) that viewers got tired of.

IMO Melb should only return if they can bring back more originals. Not Jackie or Janet… The likes of Chyka, Lydia or Gina. Even Pettifleur. When Melbourne was at its peak it was due to such good casting.

The Sydney season is iconic, I can understand why they would want it back. It is currently sitting at number 3 in reality shows purchased on Apple TV.

Nicole and Krissy were ok characters, but didn’t really bring the drama like some of the others. I guess the casting will be more conservative this time around.

Would Foxtel have been better off doing Brisbane or Perth for something new? :man_shrugging:

Well that’s probably exactly the reason why they are bringing it back. $$$

Lisa Oldfield made the show iconic. They need her back if going with the existing cast.

I watch a few of the different Housewives and the Melbourne version (at least pre-season 5) I rate in line with Beverley Hills that the conflict between cast members is something that viewers got invested in and took a side. Whereas the problem with Sydney was more like the downfall of New York the last couple of seasons, where it felt like cast were having conflict for very petty reasons and the sake of having conflict. It got to a point where every time it was just cheap shots taken at each other and there was never going to be any resolution. Sydney was sure entertaining but the constant bickering lacked a bit of depth and it kept feeling like a “here we go again” scenario.

I am just confused as to why they would bring it back with two of the more forgettable cast members. Either bring back the memorable ones or start over again with a complete new cast.

Sharp writes today that the shortlist is now down to 12, with two new names added.

They are gal pals Vanessa Jacobs Fennell and Eleni Taylor, who last year may have bonded over the break-up of investment banker Freddie Blencke and Annabelle Price.

Fennell, a charity fundraiser who has been on committees for Sydney Children’s Hospital and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, was, until three years ago, married to private equity worker Tom Fennell, managing director of Tama Capital.

Tom was caught up in the ugly breakdown of the Blencke/Price marriage last year after it emerged 30-year-old Price had moved into Tom’s Rose Bay apartment with her and Blencke’s two young children.

Vanessa’s friend Eleni Taylor is the ex-wife of Sydney construction boss Mark Taylor, of Taylor Construction, who also partly owns luxury charter boat company One O One Charters.

A media call was held at Sydney’s Rose Bay Boathouse today.

Good to see an Aussie version is coming back. I guess Melbourne is done now unless Gina ever agrees to come back . Mixed feelings about Krissy and Nicole coming back. In a way it’s good to have a couple of familiar faces but there was talk of this being a complete reboot with new cast, which is probably what I would’ve preferred after such a big break.

Terry is a true socialite; exuding infectious energy, a natural connector of friends, she’s effortlessly charming and always the life of the party. A creative at heart, Terry built her shoe label up to towering heights until she chose to focus on raising her beloved, pocket rocket Azura, now 9 years old. While she may not be a whiz in the kitchen, Terry’s love for her husband, retired NRL star Anthony Minichiello, and their daughter, is immeasurable. A celebrated ladies lunch hostess, Terry is no stranger to champagne flutes and caviar bumps, but it’s her signature drink, the TBomb, that is the fresh sip that matches her zesty spark!

VICTORIA MONTANO – Meet Victoria, owner of luxury sport brand fashion label, Sport Luxe, passionate fashionista, personal stylist, wife, and mother of two. With a background in Real Estate, PR, marketing and events, Victoria knows how to run life and has the looks to match.
