and both women are in the foreground.
This is such a great opportunity for The Project to relaunch and inject some format changes. The show is coming 4th in the 7pm timeslot and the numbers are sometimes terrible so I really hope they do use this as an opportunity to improve this.
So Carrie doesnât have a high profile?
Thatâs a very average promo.
Reduce the program back to 30 mins?
I donât believe I deserve to be mocked, nor was I being absurd.
I was making a reasonable point, about somebody who is more well known than Carrie (given that I reckon 75% of those over 55 donât even watch Ten) and is reportedly being paid $2 million by a beleaguered network, for a stated âfew nights a week and hosting Sundayâ (the latter which doesnât rate and became non-existant).
Lisa IMO should be front and centre, okay then, why not with Carrie?
Ah yes, as media questioned when the defection saga broke, thatâd be awkward.
Begs my theme here, why bother recruiting Lisa at all then, if you know Carrie will still get most of the camera with Waleed
It doesnât matter whether youâve been on a show since day dot or are the âmainâ person on a show. Once a network commits to a high profile, lucrative signing and makes flashy statements about âsheâll be doing this and thatâ, everything prior goes out the window and concessions need to be made. Otherwise it just does not work. Weâve all been wondering exactly how it will work.
Do you really think Lisa woudâve left Today, to end up going âdown a stepâ, especially a lower rating network? Money isnât everything. Fame is certainly something though.
I am very intrigued by how thisâll all play out, so yep, that promo isnât that flash.
So someone brand new to the network should waltz in and take over the show, bumping the 10 year veteran into the background? Totally disagree.
Iâd seriously question if Lisa is âmore well know than Carrieâ. Theyâre more likely on a par. Carrie is one of the highest profile faces on Ten due to The Project and Rove Live, is well known for her charity and not to mention won that lil ole Gold Logie.
IMO it would be a mistake for The Project to make Lisa a permanent fixture on the weekday show. The likes of Gretel, Steve, Rachel etc. add a bit of variety.
As for The Sunday Project, Ten should stick with the Hamish, Chris, Rachael, Tommy combo. They have really clicked. Find something else for Lisa.
Ten stated that Wilkinson was getting her own show, she will not just be on The Project, and she will be looking after the new website.
Was just going to say that - isnt The Project more of a placeholder for Lisa before she takes on her own show and bigger and better things with 10?
Promo makes sense if thats the case.
Lets just all take a breathâŚyepâŚand lets not all think we are all experts. We are just having fun, passing time while bored shitless hence we are on these forums. Have fun donât hate
I suspect Lisa will replace Fifi Box as the fourth panellist, usually on Tuesday nights, as Box has returned to Seven.
I do wonder if they will appoint a permanent Sunday team, now that Lisa is joining? Tommy and Rachel are likely but I canât see Hamish joining Ten permanently.
Just a theory, and purely speculative. This year could be a year of transition for the Project with Lisa stepping in to replace Carrie and possibly agreed to by all parties.
ARN have said that Kate Langbroek would only sign for one further year of Drive Radio, meaning it is possible for Carrie to move to full time drive co-host in 2019 after passing the baton over to Lisa on the Project, again just my thoughts.
Lisa doesnât want to move to Melbourne to do The Project full time. We already know she wants to do the Sydney version and may be one or two nights out of Melbourne. Apart from that we know that Ten want her to do another interview style show. No need to speculate further.
Yeah, Fifiâs been doing Tuesday guest for some years now.
She was the guest when I sat in the audience in 2015.
Full promo:
I think Peteâs humourous attempts wouldâve been funnier if Lisa had walked onto the set and then sat down at the desk rather than already being there.
Or another version perhaps like a fly on the wall viewpoint discussion of the 3 of them in hair & make-up or in the green or dressing rooms before the show started discussing it and she walks in etc.
I heard from PerthNow that Lisa Wilkinson will make her debut on The Sunday Project when this show returns in late January.
I still think they will do more shows in Sydney this year.
Definitely now with Lisa joining the team.
A new ad just aired inside an interrogation room. Big Brother-esque.
