The NCIS metaverse

8 episodes shows that if it finds an audience on CBS then there could be a 2nd season even if Australian ratings tank as they could put it on paramount+ in Aus

I think 8 episodes is probably a good amount to gauge the interest and popularity and if it tanks there are less episodes to ‘burn off’

That’s exactly what’s happening, it’s premiering on P+ locally?

No doubt will get a second window airing on 10 at some point.

I think it will have more chance of being successful in the US than Australia.

Just ridiculous that an “Australian” show will have a prime time Monday slot on American television but only on a streaming service in Australia on a Friday.

I mean really it’s an American show made for America set in Australia.

You’re still stuck in the past.

FTA is dying (if not dead apart from news and sport).

Streaming for scripted content is the now.

If you want an audience for your show you gotta have it premiere on a streamer.

Well, they’re doing a good job of killing FTA faster. Not denying that viewers of scripted series watch them on streaming services but network screenings can be bigger.

There are so many shows and so many streaming services that many get lost in the crowd. Some of them might get the buzz but ultimately they screen to a small audience. That might improve over a long period of time and if they remain on the streaming service will eventually reach a big audience.

I still think these shows should screen on network television first and straight after on the streaming services. You would get a big audience on network television and then also on the streaming service.

It’s just not going to happen. If they do that people won’t subscribe to the streamers cause they can just watch it on FTA. That’s not what these networks want, especially 9 and 10 for Stan and Paramount Plus.

These Aussie networks are deliberately pushing (by airing shit) people to streaming because they know what the future is.

But seriously, who is going sign up to Paramount + to watch this? Very little.

Says who? I’d certainly rather watch it on P with no ads, all in HD and no bloody watermarks.

And yet, almost all the streaming services are in the red and worried about collapsing in the future.

I know you like the show, but this is not a drawcard to drive up subscription.

But those people aren’t returning to FTA though…

It just means that there will be a lot of ptograms produced which will be unwatched. Just have a look at the slew of axed programs announced every month after one or two seadons. So many.

I thought this show was originally announced for 10 but later moved to P+. But could be wrong.

I guess the trailer is for Americans since they showed the 7 apostles in Victoria

And what I think is cannabullen falls in Queensland

It looks pretty good. I’ll definitely give it a go. Beats the same old dramas that the networks here pump out.

It could well be the case based on the trailer.
