Wasn’t the first season shot somewhere like a photo studio?
First time this year The Living Room is pre-empted in Brisbane and Adelaide due to live sport. Note the episode has not been scheduled on 10Bold or 10Peach on the same night. Normally there is a repeat on Saturday morning on 10, however it won’t happen due to 10’s coverage of Bathurst 1000 on the weekend. So the only chance for Brisbane and Adelaide viewers to see the episode may be via 10play.
Living Room encores are also shown the Friday of the following week at 1pm

This Saturday (October 12) 10Peach has TBAs for 11.30am to 12.30pm and 12.30pm to 1.30pm, so hopefully The Living Room will be shown in either timeslot, so Brisbane and Adelaide viewers can see it without resorting to 10play.
This week is the Melbourne Cup special.
Melbourne Cup special, including mining the gold used to make the cup and later turning that gold into the cup.

As David mentioned in the article, I believe this may be a decision to save on production costs with WTFN and to produce something in-house, but still a very surprising move by 10 nonetheless.

Very sad to see the Living Room axed, one of the few shows I made sure I tuned into every week. I am glad the team will be back though, their chemistry made the show.
Very surprised to see The Living Room being axed, as it finally gave 10 some sort of ratings stability on Friday nights.

But it appears that it really hasn’t been axed, as it seems it will be reappearing under a new format and name, going by what Ten have said and reading between the lines.
