The Latest

Some caps from last night. Most reports were quite long, starting with a series from overseas; plus an very long segment that was a promo for the Fed Govt. Overall, low on content.

Looking at the show now, I can see what you mean. Why can’t it just keep some elements here but return to the original way it was presented?

To me it seemed like the segment was pre-recorded but someone forgot to edit that bit out. Hence why the abrupt ad-break happened when it was realized the bit was being aired

Agree…I don’t see Gemma stopping live like that. Surely an edit issue.

Oh poor Mel just lost her voice at the end of the program.

Many Journo’s losing their voices today. Saw two live crosses on the ABC today cut short so they could get water.

8/6/2020 Melissa Doyle is presenting tonight.

I think Melissa presenting on Monday nights is now permanent.

The promos that run at 6.55pm for The Latest in 7 News don’t even tell viewers what time the show is on.

Considering the show has had 69 different time slots and by 655pm seven knows the run time of BB and the night, and thus knows exactly what time to the Second The Latest will start…

That’s pretty ridiculous

more mel she was be so embarssed

I don’t think she would be all that embarrassed, these things happen and luckily it was right at the end of the bulletin so they could dump that last piece and finish a little early.

A busy day today for Angela Cox presenting the Morning News, Sydney Afternoon News and now appearing on The Latest (though I think her segment was pre-recorded).

They really need to go back to the 7News desk for The Latest. The small round table is just not suitable- looks all wrong. They probably move it in ready for Nat for Sunrise the next day, but why can’t Nat and Beretts share the news desk for Sunrise?
They could easily use the other studio spaces for other Sunrise segments if the big desk is in the way. Then it could just stay there all day for all news bulletins.

that doesn’t sound very busy at all.

If you’re talking about the Seven News desk, my guess would be because it was too large for Sunrise’s set/presentation style.

also because they use that space for standing presentations. I like the way they use it tbh.
