I’d say it’s way to early to have a clue what will happen with The Latest!!
The hard part about the day was that it was big for news so the numbers for The Latest are potentially inflated but on the other hand the competition posted year-high ratings so that might have pushed The Latest’s numbers lower.
All you can comment on is how it did in comparison to other shows on the day and perhaps to Home and Away the previous Monday - but even then perhaps the drama might have done better than usual last night.
The show did have the biggest lead in of any program on Monday and it has been said many times in this topic how important that is for a show.
Across the hour it ranked 4th in total people. In key demos it was 3rd, just ahead of ABC News/7.30.
Last night it had 649,000 viewers on Seven. At this stage we don’t know how many watched on 7Plus though most news shows get approx 2,000 (nationally).
The previous Monday’s Home and Away had 635,000 in 7 days consolidated plus a VPM rating of approx 13,000 live and 85,000 7 days (ie watching on 7Plus nationally).
I saw one of the coronavirus Q&A episodes they did and what astounded me was the worldwide engagement the show has - they had questions submitted from right around the world
You seem so excited to say that - did you happen to watch a Nine News Brisbane promo whilst typing up your post!!?
Think the ratings for the past few nights have demonstrated that numbers for news broadcasts across the board are inflated at the moment. The big question is considering the Coronavirus will be a story which dominates headlines for not just weeks but months to come, how long will news programs continue to draw massive numbers for
She was bumped from 6pm for him, not really surprising.
Michael is authoritative and Mel is warm. She is one of Seven’s best presenters, definitely their best female presenter. Such a shame she hasn’t been used to her utmost potential. Hopefully, this is the turning point.
