If they want Tim as host he should leave weekend news and commit to this. Or give it to someone who isn’t already permanently committed to a role.

To be fair they probably had to give Tim something else to do after Flashpoint was axed.

I’m not sure it works like that. What will they give Usher and Cox to compensate for The Latest moving then?
Don’t be surprised if Ann Sanders makes way for them, especially Angela Cox.

I don’t really see the problem with having different hosts. If Tim McMillan is there 2-3 nights per week, I don’t have an issue with other presenters doing the shift as well. Gone are the days of tuning in for the specific newsreader i.e. Sandra Sully doing the late news on 10

Nine have a few rotating hosts for the late news, don’t see an issue with Seven doing the same.

They may end up using TVW’s extra long main news desk but I’m thinking they will use the same desk they used for Flashpoint. It’s already there so they might as well use it.
Possibly with a backdrop that mimics the Sydney set but I don’t know if they will go to all that effort.
I can’t find a cap of when Tim used the desk for Flashpoint, but I’m referring to this one:
Edit: SamSamTV posted it here. Maybe they later changed to use the couches. I’m not sure, never got to see it much.

I think when Flashpoint was relaunched as a Sunday Morning program the desk was sent back to Sydney for federal election coverage.

Wouldn’t 7News Perth still be on air? I doubt we’ll see the Latest scheduled that early ever again.
