Wonder if we’ll see special coverage on any of the networks on Friday and Saturday night, especially if the situation continues to deteriorate?

Programming beyond 8:30pm that will otherwise do under 300k, Seven have a perfect opportunity and to counter ACA on Sat at 7pm with a Sat edition of Latest (as the timeslot was originally changed for back in early 2020 for the beginning of coronavirus).

Could be third year in a row where a weekend or more has had programming upended by a major global breaking news event (2020: coronavirus, 2021: Prince Philip death and funeral).

The first half-hour of the program was commercial-free and focused only on the situation with Russia and Ukraine. I thought it was quite well done.

Not sure. It is a Qld flood special though. Sharyn mentioned it at the end of the 6pm news and they showed a full screen graphic.

The 7.30pm program - Police Strike Force - finished late, and The Front Bar always runs overtime (which is nothing new). Thus The Latest began 25 minutes late.
