The Graham Norton Show

The Graham Norton Show discussion starts here. Archived Topic

Ten is fast-tracking the New Year’s Eve special tonight, in the later time of 10:40pm following the Big Bash League. Guests tonight are Jennifer Lawrence, Eddie Redmayne, Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Years & Years.

This means Ten have fallen behind with two shows unscreened this season including the special Star Wars one. Hopefully we’ll get that one sooner rather than later.

Why are Ten showing a repeat of a compilation show tonight when they have a number of unscreened new shows?

By the time they get round to screening the episode with the Star Wars cast, it will have ended its run. Ten are so dumb sometimes.

According to Ten Network Scheduling thread, there will be a special episode next Tuesday (Australia Day) at 9.30pm. Guests include Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Hugh Jackman, Rebel Wilson, Sia and Kylie Minogue. Looks to me it is Ten’s own compilation of past guest appearances rather than a new episode.

I don’t know if Ten compiled that themselves but I’m pretty sure they have shown that compilation special before, maybe six months ago when they had no new eps. They are absolute morons in the programming department!

Today in the gossip section of Studio 10, they talked about how Matthew Perry hit the headlines with his appearance on the Graham Norton Show. So Ten are rushing it to our screens this Friday night.

Great that they’ll fast track it. However, because of the Big Bash, it will screen very late. The last time they did this the show started around 11pm. :-1: If they are going to show it in a different timeslot, why didn’t they show it Tuesday or Wednesday when the cricket is not on?

Meanwhile, we still have these episodes unscreened, many coinciding with movie releases:
11 Kurt Russell, Tina Fey, Josh Widdicombe and Sia 11 December 2015
12 Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, David Beckham and Kylie Minogue 18 December 2015
14 Ralph Fiennes, Tracey Ullman, James Nesbitt and James Bay 8 January 2016

But they showed a compilation repeat episode last Friday night. :weary:

No, Ten is showing a repeat episode tonight, with guests including George Clooney and Hugh Laurie.

Bloody Craig Bennett and Studio 10 lied to us. :weary:

I daresay the network might’ve changed their mind about showing a new episode so late after the BBL and went back to a repeat.

Probably smart but they’ve still made some stupid decisions about not screening new eps on the Fridays when there’s no Big Bash.

A Superhero Start for Series 19 Of The Graham Norton Show.

8.30pm Friday

Graham Norton kicks off series 19 of his BAFTA-award-winning talk show with a superhero special. To celebrate the release of epic action adventure Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Graham has gathered some of the film’s all-star cast in this special episode of The Graham Norton Show set to air this Friday, 8.30pm on TEN.

Batman himself, two-time Oscar-winner Ben Affleck joins his co-stars five-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams and British star Henry Cavill on the famous red couch.

When asked if he contacted any of the other actors who have played the legendary role for advice, Ben mentions an encounter with Christian Bale who gave him a very useful tip for the Batman suit. Click here to view.

Later in the show Ben reveals his four-year-old son thinks he is the real Batman. Click here to view.

With hilarious results, Graham invites his guests to demonstrate their best Batman voices with the help of a special mic. Click here to view.

Amy Adams talks candidly when asked about appearing naked in a bathtub scene during the film. Click here to view.

Plus musical guests Pet Shop Boys perform live in the studio.

Again this year, why couldn’t they have shown a new episode? The next episode with Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel should have been shown tonight since their movie is out now. No point showing it weeks from now.

Actress Carrie Fisher’s final TV interview airs on tonight’s show. This interview was recorded on December 9,she died on December 27.

This episode first aired before the Big Bash.

@Aurora Oops shows how often l watch shows in prime time on Ten.

Why are they showing these episodes in the wrong order again? Thete are two missing since the last new one.

Very different graphics than the usual purple colour scheme used for the new Graham Norton episode tomorrow night, didn’t manage to get any caps.

This week’s episode features Mel Gibson and Kesha on the red couch and viewers are less than impressed, given Gibson has an alleged history of domestic violence against his ex-partner, while Kesha had spoken out publicly against her ex -manager Dr Luke, accusing him of sexual and physical assault during their time working together.
Other guests in this episode are Will Ferrell, John Lithgow, Mark Wahlberg and Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas.

Looks like a non story to me. I highly doubt that viewers were outraged considering they quoted only one persons twitter comment.

Which episode is Ten showing? Could it be from 2016 (guests included Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard) or 2017 (guests include Hugh Jackman and the cast of The Greatest Showman), or the most recent episode to date (December 22, which features guests like Will Smith, Jenna Coleman and Jamie Oliver)?

They’re not going to waste a new episode for 10.40pm on New Year’s Eve.
