Is this coming back anytime soon?

Latest season started Wednesday and it continues with double episodes next week.

Thanks. Shows how much I’ve been watching or keeping up with what goes on at Seven.

Based on the ratings, it seems Seven have killed this show too.

Looks like Seven is holding back on the resumption of season 3. New episodes have been available since January 13 in the US, however the drama’s traditional timeslot has been taken by The Gold Digger (Tuesday) and First Dates (Wednesday).

EDIT 16/2: season 3 returns to Seven on Sunday, February 23, at 8.30pm, and will also air on Tuesday nights. As of this week five new episodes will have aired in the US since the winter break, so Seven will air double episodes in the first 3-4 weeks to catch up.

The Good Doctor did not air last night, due to Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s evening press conference, pushing back the rest of the night’s line-up by 30 minutes in all states except WA. There were lots of comments on social media complaining about the no-show.

The thing is they should have just aired the damn episode at 10pm since most people were still expecting it, largely due to Seven being idiots by continuing to advertise it during the Ben Cousins’ interview.

The episode that was scheduled for last night will now be shown next Tuesday (April 7) at 8.30pm.

Filming for the new season has been delayed in Vancouver due to a stand-off over the number of COVID-19 tests for cast and crew each week.

UPDATE: production started on September 2.

The impasse between Hollywood studios, which insisted on rigorous testing according to the current SAG-AFTRA guidelines in the U.S., and the British Columbia unions, which pushed back and called for far more limited testing of the crews they represent, lasted for a couple of weeks until the studios and local unions started reaching agreements on individual shows in mid-August.

One of the first to get a green light was The Good Doctor, after its lead studio Sony Pictures TV made a deal with the BC Council of Film Unions, made up of IATSE, Teamsters and International Cinematographers Guild locals, and various actors’ unions.

Season 4 premieres in the US on November 2. Will Seven fasttrack it like the past three seasons?

UPDATE 12/1/2021: TV Cynic has posted season 4 as coming soon.

Returning to Tuesdays.

New season

Season 4 premieres 9.00pm Tuesday, 2 February

It’s the US drama that reached the number one spot on screens and won the heart of the nation, and starting next Tuesday, The Good Doctor is back.

What does season 4 have in store for Dr. Shaun Murphy and the St. Bonaventure team? The hit medical drama returns with a two-part special tackling the greatest crisis the world has faced in recent memory: COVID-19.

Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) treats a patient with an illness that is not only unpredictable in nature, but also unlike anything he or the team at San Jose St. Bonaventure has ever seen before.

As safety protocols and quarantines increase due to the global pandemic, Lea (Paige Spara) and Shaun’s new relationship will become tested.

Dr. Alex Park (Will Yun Lee) gets ready to move back to Phoenix, Arizona, to be closer to his family.

Meanwhile, Dr. Morgan Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann) navigates her way around the clinic following her departure from the surgery team and unknowingly puts herself and several members of the staff in danger.

Dr. Claire Brown (Antonia Thomas) continues to work through her grief, still reeling from the sudden death of Dr. Neil Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez).

Australian-Canadian actress Theresa Visintin, who has appeared in shows like Home and Away and GP, and competed on season 8 of MasterChef Australia in 2016, guest stars as an obstetrician-gynecologist on next Tuesday’s episode (April 20) on Seven. Theresa and her family lives in Vancouver where the drama is filmed.

I watched that episode (before it airs here next week) and I was saying to someone, she looked familiar but didn’t make the connection until after it aired in US, at which time I did a major face palm. :joy:

I still enjoy it from time to time, but am way behind atm (only seen the first few eps of this season), trying to catch up where possible on 7Plus.

Seasons 1 to 3 as well as already being on Amazon Prime Video , have just been added to Netflix Australia.
