The talk/interview with Henry Young was great, and hilarious. Pat Cash gave a good insight into his career too.

Sam’s Drip Tray was back, as to Mick’s Multi.

Will Sam ever go paddle boarding again?

Totally agree. More of this.

Funny moment at the start, with the warning about old men dancing to Taylor Swift, followed by pics of Sam Pang paddle boarding.

Great episode on Thursday. Cathy commentating her historic 400m race was something

Apparently, from next Wednesday week (March 13), the show will only be shown in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, with Sydney and Brisbane missing out altogether with no screening on 7two, 7mate or 7flix. Can anyone confirm this?

All markets at 8.30pm on 13 March

That’s good news. I hope it stays in the schedule for Sydney and Brisbane viewers during this AFL season.

On the main channel in Sydney and Brisbane?

Unless ratings dictate a change in the future, The Front Bar will be seen nationally at 8.30pm Wednesdays. Only Talking Footy will be flipped with Crime Investigation Australia in Sydney and Brisbane

###The Front Bar returns to Adelaide

Back in SA for Gather Round, live and free on Seven and 7plus

In exciting news for sports fans, everyone’s favourite footy show, The Front Bar, is returning to South Australia, to celebrate the AFL’s Gather Round, on Wednesday, 3 April 2024 on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Going on the road for the second consecutive year, resident patrons Mick Molloy, Andy Maher and Sam Pang will kick-start happy hour at 8.30pm AEST, live from Adelaide Oval to open Seven’s Gather Round coverage, with all 7AFL commentators and hosts broadcasting live from South Australia.

Mick Molloy said: “I loved Gather Round last year, but can I just say one thing: not enough football. I had nothing to do on Friday afternoon. Surely, we can fit 18 games in this time.”

Managing Director Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin said: “The 2023 outside broadcast of The Front Bar at Adelaide Oval kicked off Gather Round in the best way possible, and we cannot wait to hit the ground running for a second consecutive year.

“On behalf of the entire Seven Network, we thank the South Australian government for granting us the opportunity to fully embrace the excitement of Gather Round in 2024. We look forward to bringing all the laughs of The Front Bar, and all the biggest and best moments from the 7AFL broadcast, on the road to the people of Adelaide and broadcast to homes all around Australia, live and free on Seven.”

The Front Bar kicks off a huge month for South Australians, ahead of Gather Round and followed by the highly anticipated Adelaide leg of LIV Golf – all live and free on Seven.

Fans should tune into The Front Bar for the next two Wednesday nights to find out how they can secure tickets to the Adelaide Oval live show.

Man, Sam Pang absolutely roasted new AFL CEO Andrew Dillon on TFB last night. I realise that’s the nature of the show, he’d have seen Gillon McLachlan previously face similar and received some pointers from him, however while all was tongue-in-cheek, he’d deep down have realised that and maybe even been briefed by a publicist or the boys themselves beforehand… Some of Pang’s remarks were still fairly harsh and potentially offensive, certainly from his and an AFL House standpoint. He was a good sport for going on, broadcast partner and all, but doubt he’ll be doing that too often!

On another note, is The Front Bar classified as a “sport” program or “entertainment” program? Because EPG/listings even network presentation all indicate it’s the latter… Yet Seven use its sport watermark and AFAIK Seven Sport produce it (could just be they’ve axed so many teams at HSV/BCM that its the only one left to produce shows in-house there).

I think it’s an entertainment program but is produced under the Seven Sport banner as it is considered to be part of the network’s AFL/Cricket or broader sports coverage

I notice Seven uploads Front Bar dirty as broadcast, I wonder why vs other programs. Laziness/easier? Also I noticed there were no break-away bvod/7Plus ad breaks last night, it was literally the 7Melbourne broadcast breaks including promos from last night (there was even a 7mate promo for “My Best Friends Wedding” for Friday), etc. Maybe due to certain advertising activations that were only during the broadcast breaks and can’t be in the 7Plus ones?
