Is Andy Lee the only person to have shows airing on three different networks this year?
Guess Whom?! on Nine, The Cube on Ten and The Front Bar on Seven.
Some kind of new record? Has anyone done this before? Shaun Micallef maybe?
Sam Pang also on Front Bar on Seven, is a regular on 10’s HYBPA and also has an acting part in ABC’s Frisk that starts tonight.
I was going to mention in the HYBPA topic that Sam will have an acting part.
You could also include people like Maggie Beer who has been on shows across networks (ABC, Foxtel, MasterChef, HYBPA) or perhaps Gordon Ramsay.
Sam Pang’s sly digs against Seven’s other programming (Holey Moley, Cricket) were amusing.
Wednesday 07th April -
Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald is in for Sam Pang tonight.
Next week (14 April), the AFL Players Association’s AFLW MVP Awards will be held during the show.
More than 30 players are at Seven Melbourne studios for the AFLW MVP Awards tonight. Special guests include Sam Lane, Jess and Sarah Hosking, Bec Goddard and Debbie Lee.
Andy Maher said during tonight’s show that the public would again be allowed to be in the audience from next week (April 22) onwards, subject to restrictions. You will need to follow the show’s social media on how to apply for audience tickets.
Note: the show returns to its regular Thursday timeslot from April 22.
It was good having an audience back for the show. Even though the chemistry between the hosts were fine without an audience, but with one, it added to their chemistry.
Thursday 6 May -
Sam said Nova this morning that Marty Sheargold would fill in for him on tonight’s episode, with special guests Taylor Walker and Brent Harvey.
Nova has been giving away audience tickets during Chrissie, Sam and Browny breakfast show in the past couple of weeks.
Thursday 27 May -
No live audience tonight because of COVID restrictions imposed earlier this week.
Carlton legend Syd Jackson was special guest for the AFL Indigenous Round, replacing Stephen Michael who was unable to fly from WA due to border restrictions. Mick Molloy also said Nicky Winmar was unable to appear on the show for the same reason.
Thursday 3 June -
Nicky Winmar appeared in the final segment of tonight’s episode alongside Derek Kickett.
Still don’t know why 7Plus upload a raw/dirty copy of The Front Bar (complete with classification warnings, CC bugs, PRG, live sport watermark and Powerball results)??
So the control room just records the transmitting broadcast? Or maybe it’s the digital team in Sydney? But it’s pretty much the only show this occurs.
All other programs on 7Plus are clean masters excluding all the aforementioned presentation elements (except for its own 7+ watermark).
On ATN Sydney late night broadcast, there has been no ‘Sport |’ on the watermark for a few weeks now.
From about 2016, I think they used to use Seven Sport | 7 on digital uploads/7Plus/old tapes where they’d added a modern watermark.
And live telecasts that were delayed or recently aired from a recording would use Sport | 7.
Never understood why they used the first one, as it seemed to ‘double up’ on the ‘Seven’.
Andy Lee in for Sam Pang tonight.
Some funny explanations by the panel giving suggestions as to why Sam is absent.
“He fell down the stairs at Lindsay Fox’s place in Sorrento.”
“The Front Bar clashed with his QAnon meeting.”

Retired footy journalist Mike Sheahan is special guest tonight. He previously appeared in a skit on The Front Bar involving Jonathan Brown and Sam Pang.
Wednesday 30 June - Andy Lee filling in for Sam Pang tonight. Gary Ayres is special guest.
Rob-Kipa Williams (who plays Ari on Home and Away), has taken to social media this evening, unhappy about Andy, Mick and Sam’s pronunciation of a Maori village in New Zealand called Whakarewarewa, which they joked around by calling it “Fuck a never never”.
I agree with Rob that the comments were inappropriate, but I’m surprised he’s called out a program from the network he works for.
From Rob’s Instagram story tonight:
Why wouldn’t he, irrespective of which network the show he appears is on. It’s completely disrespectful and he’s right to call them out on that kind of shit.
They’re not just insulting that town, but also the Maori language as he rightly points out and the correct pronunciation of it.
Whakarewarewa.
