Thursday September 10 -
Andy Lee filling in for Andy Maher, who is isolating at home after two employees at SEN tested positive to COVID-19 (Andy Maher co-hosts the drive program with Bob Murphy on weekdays).
Former Hawthorn premiership player and Sydney coach Gary Buckenara is this week’s special guest.
Is this the first time that Andy Maher has been absent from the Front Bar?
Did Andy Lee, then assume the “hosting duties” at such, which would include throwing to segments, wrapping up the banter between the three of them, saying what’s coming up after the break etc.?
Yes - Lee is the main host tonight
If one of Maher, Molloy or Pang left next year and will be replaced by Andy Lee, what would you like to see the panel be?
- Andy Lee, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang
- Andy Maher, Andy Lee and Sam Pang
- Andy Maher, Mick Molloy and Andy Lee

I quote enjoyed The Front Bar Grand Final edition, and most of the show throughout the year.
Tonight’s show was live into Sydney, which is good too.
The Front Bar Cricket Edition is back this year with two episodes.
Glad that The Front Bar is returning as two cricket specials. The trio of hosts work great together. And Andy knows some cricket which helps out too.
The Front Bar Cricket Edition returns Thursday 26 November at 8:30pm
Front Bar pads up for two cricket specials
Thursdays 26 November and 3 December at 8.30pm
Don’t miss all the laughs
Everyone’s favourite sports show has put the footy away and unwrapped a brand-new Kookaburra as The Front Bar turns its attention to the Seven Network’s Summer of Cricket with two special editions.
With a star-studded line-up headed by Mick Molloy, Andy Maher and Andy Lee, The Front Bar team will take the field this Thursday at 8.30pm, and back up at the same time next Thursday, 3 December.
Both specials will air nationally on Channel 7, with the team vowing to come off the long run as they tackle the burning issues ahead of the WBBL Finals, BBL 10 and the Aussie men’s blockbuster Test Series against India.
Front Bar skipper, Mick Molloy, said: “Footy season may be over but I’m still here at Channel 7 because I’ve refused to leave the studio, Donald Trump style.”
There will be plenty of tall tales this Thursday night when legendary Aussie spearhead Merv Hughes joins the team at the bar, while Australian Test captain Tim Paine will also be part of the fun.

No live watermark for tonight’s cricket edition. I wonder if it was taped earlier this evening.
Meg Lanning, Greg Chappell and Sunil Gavaskar will be special guests on next Thursday’s show.
I saw the promo for “The Front Bar - Cricket Edition” on Seven Sydney last night and thought to myself if many local viewers even knew that there was an AFL version during the football season.
Show returns 8:30pm Wednesday week on Channel 7.
Great promo, really captures what the show is all about.
Great promo, way too long though!
Front Bar grand reopening on Wednesday
Mick, Sam and Andy return for 2021 on Seven
Everyone’s favourite footy show is back on the Seven Network this Wednesday night as The Front Bar officially opens happy hour for the 2021 AFL season.
After a long and arduous pre-season, Mick Molloy, Sam Pang and Andy Maher will assume their usual positions at the bar on Channel Seven and 7Plus on Wednesday, at 8.30pm in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, and 11.00pm in Sydney and Brisbane.
Molloy said The Front Bar team was raring to go for the season opener, but only after a blockbuster off-season move that would have rocked the AFL world ultimately fell over.
“I was going to replace Bruce McAvaney, but I told Seven Friday nights were no good. And Saturdays I play golf. And Sunday arvos I generally like to have a nap,” Molloy said.
“Plus, I said it’s a deal breaker if I’m not allowed to swear in my commentary. If they want colour commentary, they’ll get colour commentary!”
Wednesday night’s show is set to be a classic with Richmond legend Kevin Bartlett and The Front Bar regular Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald set to drop by, while the team will pay tribute to Bruce McAvaney after the broadcasting icon’s decision to step back from calling AFL games.
The season’s biggest question will also be answered. After Molloy last year proved a man of his word by opening the season with a Mabior Chol hairstyle, will he unveil the Kevin Bartlett haircut he promised if the Tigers won back-to-back premierships?
The Front Bar – Wednesday, Channel 7 and 7plus
8.30pm: Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth
11.00pm: Sydney and Brisbane
No mention of Andy Lee. He had a spot on Nine’s Aus Open coverage and is now hosting The Cube on 10 so is incredibly busy network hopping as it is.
Andy Lee might revert back to “casual” for the show? And may reappear once The Cube finishes up on Ten. At least Fitzy is making another appearance. Fitzy and Andy are good contributors to the show.
