Awful. It goes without saying that his partner in the situation is front and centre and, but from a purely TV perspective (as this forum is about) - how awful for Sally. Any sort of farewell from the network and any farewell packages will be tainted through no fault of her own. How selfish.

I’m sure there are deeper rooted serious issues involved here in a case of domestic violence than the farewell packages on a TV show.

Wonder if Seven had prior knowledge that this was due to hit the media and decided to axe the program plus hosts to try and distance themselves from him but the news came out earlier than they planned.
Either way it’s not good news to hear what has happened.
Very odd behaviour from Ryan, I don’t know him, but his TV persona conveyed him a nice guy. Obviously we can now question that.

The show was formally axed Friday, the alleged incident happened Saturday.

No. The alleged incident happened on Saturday. Ryan voluntarily handed himself into Police for questioning on Sunday. 7 say they were only made aware of the situation late last night, when contacted by media outlets, and made the decision to remove him from air effective immediately.
Sally has been there since its debut. More than half of the 7 years was without Ryan. Should be plenty of material that celebrates Sally but also the show.

The news story on Sunrise just now said that the network was made aware of the charges last night.
This is the last thing Seven wants to hear ahead of the final show of The Daily Edition on Friday. I feel really sorry for Sally.

That’s a lie. Sunrise up to their usual standards there. I’ve read how Natalie Barr is a great journalist. Sure, but she is obviously surrounded by a lot of idiots there at Martin Place.

Well, technically he is a “former” presenter because they dropped him last night but he is also technically still a Seven Network employee.
Well, if they’ve terminated his employment he probably isn’t.
