400k+ is good for 10 in that timeslot. I wouldnât call it a âhitâ but with some positive feedback I can see it growing in that slot.
More importantly in 25-54 it ranked 8th and was ahead of Farmer Wants A Wife. In 16-39 it ranked second beating every show on the other networks.
Iâd say thatâs a huge number personally. For a 9pm show on 10, thatâs a big success.
Hopefully the networks get the hint that 9pm is there for the taking and put effort into producing new content. Tim McDonald has always been hilarious on HYPBA and itâs great to see him and Melanie be given the trust of 10 and Working Dog to have fun in this format.
Also is anyone surprised that Melanie Bracewell is only 26 years old? She certainly seems quite mature and carries a level of confidence of someone a bit older.
Updated ratings time adjusted: 460,000
- #1 in its timeslot.
- #1 in its timeslot in under 50s and all key demos.
Competitive start, now to bed in the program and retain a consistently competitive audience.
Never seen Nova 100âs Afternoon Princess Mel Tracina on Television until last Night.
This is great news for Australian Television and for 10.
Is clearly showing what is possible post 9PM.
I think ten would be absolutely delighted with those figures. It didnt have a massive promotional push and for a 9pm slot it is an amazing result! launching shows in the later slot gives a much better opportunity than the competitive 7.30pm slot. Hopefully it can maintain or even grow in that slot.
While the figures are great for the timeslot, I think we also have to remember that 13 million of us were in lockdown last night too.
It wonât rate next two weeks due to the olympics. But 10 will let it slow burn. It shows promise.
So thatâs Mondayâs and Tuesdayâs sorted. We need them to work out 40 weeks of content for Wednesdayâs and 20 weeks for Thursdayâs given goggle box airs there for 20weeks.
I know thatâs a different genre and timeslot, but The Living Room doesnât even get 400k these days.
Hopefully The Cheap Seats will grow even more but yeah it will be slow.
Thank God Youâre Here.
I enjoyed the show but I dropped off towards the end. I think making it a little bit shorter might benefit it.
I was actually shocked at how fast time was going. Felt like it had only started, I looked at my phone and it was 9.40.
I just think their shows are a better fit on Ten and Working Dog are probably aware of that. I canât speak for anyone else of course, but I know I personally associate comedies and younger-skewing shows more with Ten. A show like HYBPA wouldnât work on Nine, even if it had the same format and guest panelists.
I think it would work well on Tuesdays and Thursdays as a 30 minute format. Then youâd just need something for Wednesdays.
Wonder if the same people trawling through news and TV are shared between these shows now. Will there be many overlaps, or is this a case of there already being too much material for HYBPA that they can afford to push some here.
Iâm thinking there may also be âoff cutâ clips that may have appeared on HYBPA NZ that didnât fit the Australian one.
