Sunday Herald Sun’s Fiona Byrne writes that former Neighbours actor Sharon Johal and husband Ankur Dogra are understood to be among the yet to be revealed cast of the new season of The Block.
There’s another season that’s wrapped ready to air soon right? Or is this one being held up the next one to go to air later this year?
Fiona is referring to the season which will start filming at Gisborne South this week, to air later this year.
Bugger. I thought we had a season due to start anytime now.
Don’t they source contestants via agencies? They don’t generally hire Joe Public. They go to the agency with a list of requirements and the agency provides a shortlist.
I’ve had a few friends who have done initial screenings for the show who have just applied themselves through the normal application process.
No idea on where the contestants who get to final selection come from, whether agency or not, but I think this is a bit of a myth when it comes to casting.
I’m sure it probably does happen here and there, but not for everyone.

It’s definitely a mix of casting agents and ringing back people who applied the previous seasons who they liked but just didn’t fit that season.
Also competing in this season are former Brisbane Lions AFL player Joel Patfull, and fashion influencer Elle Ferguson.
So just every day regular people then, getting their chance to change their lives?

Some of the other contestants knew it was coming. Scotty had it penciled in for week one of production on his whiteboard in the office that was carelessly left unlocked… again.

They aren’t the first couple to leave. IIRC a couple left in season 2 and were replaced by couple Janie & Andrew ( Andrew being Dr Andrew Rochford)

Start the serious with no reference to them at all. Doubtful as ratings not that great in the first couple of weeks, drama drama drama. Spare us please
