The Block

Nine would have to be very brave to dump Scott Cam if that’s the path they choose to take should The Block be renewed for a new season. We all know how House Rules went after Johanna Griggs left (albeit she chose to leave). I’d say that Scotty is The Block.

To be fair, Shaynna is a judge, so she’s always going to have less airtime to Scotty and the contestants.

I think she’s good in small doses. She’d become annoying if she appeared all the time.

Nah, not really. The first couple of seasons in the Early-Mid 2000s were hosted by Jamie Durie.

Yeah I know that, but Scotty has been here for the last fifteen seasons which is more memorable than the two seasons Jamie hosted.

If someone says “The Block” to you, I think one of the first things you’d think of is Scott Cam (that, or product placement ).

The big scandal is that one of the contestants took a photo of the production schedule and then gave it to all the other contestants.
So they all know the order in which the rooms will be completed.

And Scotty has a glass jaw and is personally affronted by it and will ham it up for the cameras. Spare us Nine with this shit…

Is this for real or just a joke?

From what I have read, it is real. (Please take it as a grain of salt until it’s actually revealed - but it does sound like the type of overhyped crap they’d think up)

It’s the Biggest Cheating Scandal since the last Biggest Cheating Scandal

2019:

Nine even did an article list some previous cheating scandals last year

It was revealed on Wednesday night in the promo for next week that this is indeed the scandal, complete with the dramatisation of Scotty erasing the whiteboard in his office. Interestingly it reveals the series was shot around March this year (if that wasn’t already known).

Did they all have it, or just some of them? If they all had it, they’re all on the same playing field still.

Josh and Luke are the cheaters who took a photo of the production schedule.
They also technically cheated tonight by having one of their fiances to come and help style their wardrobe.

But is that cheating? Is it written down specifically in published rules that this cannot occur or is just unethical/unsportsmanlike?

Here are 10 key rules the teams must follow that are not always discussed on camera:

  • No help from any outside designer.

Ok but is there are rule about taking a photo of the whiteboard with the production schedule on it?

That really should be an unwritten rule…Same on any production.

They also own the format from what I remember

Pretty moronic for the production schedule to be mapped out on a whiteboard for anybody to see. Is Scotty one of these old school people who is incapable of using of a scheduling app on a smart phone?

This is why I think that much hyped “cheating scandal” is completely set up. Surely any reality TV program would do everything possible to ensure the contestants can’t get anywhere near (let alone in) that room with a production schedule, especially these days?!

If it’s not in writing then it’s not a rule. They’re manufacturing a crisis. If it isn’t a published rule as part of being on the show then it’s not cheating. Contestants aren’t mind readers.
