I am sure there are local tradies. It’s a pretty big town with new houses being developed all the time
Scott Cam compares the cul-de-sac of Hampton to Ramsay Street in Neighbours.
Does anyone else think the contestant line-up is very male dominated? This year there are seven males and only three women taking part.
The so called faves are all the most horrific compeititors from the past. They were all hated.
One thing that hasn’t changed, the cast is yet again a blatantly obvious whitebread casting.
The bloody producers are talking on camera already. Disaster.
Can they please get to the crux of the show please? No one needs to hear the entire life stories of all of these guys.
Build build build! It’s a renovation show.
Why does every reality show need to overdo the back-stories.
And producers talking on camera again? No thanks!
Way too much product placement and adverts. Hopefully the big advertising push on the first episode will last them until late in the season because tonight’s episode was ridiculous.
Good to see they have gone directly to the agencies to get their contestants again. Take it back to season 1 and get real people.
They will end up like MKR otherwise. All these shows are just insta models or insta wannabes. I have no interest in watching these buff blokes with hundreds of thousands of insta follows trying to push their branding.
Those two gentlemen certainly have a large following online. No doubt producer selected.
I have always been a fan of this show, but my god, they are really pushing the stupid drama more than they did last year.
I’m probably going to only watch the Sunday episodes if this is how it turns out to be.
^^ Certainly going the way of MKR.
Yep, a shame. We’ve watched and looked forward to all of the latest seasons but it’s well and truly heading the way of MKR a great format moved too far from the basics and stretched out way too much and I’m not sure how long we’ll stick with this one.
It’s one of the shows we look forward to each year in our house to all watch but looks like we’ll have to wait for a new format to come through to appreciate.
Hoping that the ratings flunk this year and they take it as a hint to rejuvenate the format (or axe it - but then Seven will probably steal it haha)
For ‘faves of the show’ the Twins clearly not knowing the number one rule of the show, speaks volumes.
I call BS on that. I reckon Nine approached them.
Clearly. And when you think of all the genuine fans out there that would have loved an opportunity, that’s the worst part of the whole thing.
And not to mention the fact that there are two couples from the Northern Beaches in Sydney.
I’d love to see some more scope. Darwin, regional Australia. Anywhere but always Sydney and Melbourne.
I know why they do it (highest rating capital cities) but I don’t care.
Agree with that but I’ll cut them a bit of slack for this year with COVID restrictions and the uncertainties that can provide. When this was filmed the way the borders were going Melbourne and Sydney were probably the best options - as we know now though Sydney got screwed but I can see them wanting to have to deal with the least amount of state legislations as possible for that and with WA, Tas and NT being particularly tough compared to the others.
It’s great to see The Block has once again continued its tradition of ramming Product Placement down our throats during the program and ad breaks:
Of course there was more with Kennards Hire, Carpet Court, A2 Milk and Bisley Workwear among others…but I think you get the overall point. The Block is pretty much like watching a movie-length commercial.
