The Bachelorette

He’s the exact opposite of the type of guy she said she was looking for.

The media have obviously found out the name of 1 intruder and made up that he wins. #fakenews

Whats the go with Jarrad? Full on stalker/psycho alert going on there. He’s going to lose the plot whend Intruders come.

He seemed nice at first but he’s turned into a bunny boiler.
After Sophie’s reaction when Ryan said he likes a woman who takes care of herself and who doesn’t have a potty mouth, I’m surprised she gave him a rose.

Hopefully there is some talent amongst the intruders because no one thus far seems to be a very good match for Sophie.

Sophie is the best. With these shows I usually find the Bachelor or Bachelorette come secondary to the contestants, as in that role they become very serious and wooden and often feel forced. This season I find it the complete opposite, very few contestants stand out to me and it’s all about Sophie. She is leading the conversations on dates, saying the most random bizarre things, has the funniest facial reactions and I find I genuinely care about her because she’s so relatable.

Episode 2 7-day VPM now at 172,000.

Another great episode last night and audience figure too, by far the best series of Bachelor/ette to date.

Sophie Monk is on the cover of TV Week this week.

The Bachelorette Smashes Online Catch-Up Records.
Biggest Ever Seven Day Online Audience.

The second episode of TEN’s hit series The Bachelorette Australia has broken the record for the highest seven-day online catch-up audience in Australia, ever.

The 21 September episode attracted an additional 179,000 viewers from online catch-up – the biggest increase ever for a single episode of any show on Australian television. That increase lifted the episode’s total seven-day capital-city consolidated audience to 1.27 million, covering television and online viewing.

More viewers than ever before have tuned in to watch this season of The Bachelorette Australia starring Sophie Monk, with record audiences watching online through catch-up and live streaming on tenplay.

The first two episodes of The Bachelorette Australia now dominate the most watched shows online in Australia, ranking #1 and #3 in the OzTAM seven day VPM ratings (see below).

Network Ten Chief Content Officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “After just four episodes, The Bachelorette Australia with Sophie Monk is a major success on all screens.

“The show’s overnight television audience alone is up 44% in total people compared with the first four episodes last year and it ranks #1 in its timeslot in total people, 25 to 54s and under 55s. It dominates social media conversations and engagement every time it is on air.

“The Bachelorette Australia’s online catch-up viewing on tenplay this year has been extraordinary. So far, the average online catch-up viewing per episode has soared more than 160% compared with 2016. Australia has fallen in love with Sophie Monk and the Bachelors, regardless of what screen they are watching them on,” she said.

Couple of things about VPM ratings:

  1. VPM ratings measure connected devices rather than viewers so OzTAM does not know whether more than one person is watching; so viewer numbers could be higher.

  2. The usual OzTAM ratings are an estimate of what people are watching based on what the metropolitan panel of 5,250 are tuned into each night (including guests). By contrast, VPM ratings are not an estimate. In the case of The Bachelorette, for example, the system recorded the 179,000 people watching on tenPlay.

  3. The VPM rating measures the program content only and excludes any adverts that are played in contrast to the usual ratings system.

Four in - Four out

Don’t they have a more complicated methodology than that? Something like total minutes played divided by total number of connections?

I didn’t want to get into that much detail - but it is actually calculated as “total minutes of a program played … divided by the content length”. So a VPM rating of 179,000 means that for any minute of the program, an average of 179,000 connected devices had played that minute of content. This compares to normal ratings where the overnight rating for a program gives the average number of people watching each minute of the program.

In last night’s episode, Ryan won the back to school contest during a group date, only to be dumped by Sophie after he told her he preferred private relationships and could not picture himself fitting into her lifestyle. Then why bother? His swearing after the elimination was disgraceful. He should have given the other seven a chance to win a single date with Sophie.
The three-round challenge was so funny. Some men really struggled at maths!

Are you really surprised that reality show contestants are morons? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
