The Bachelor Australia

Australia’s New Bachelor Is Ready For Launch.

To say Australia’s new Bachelor aims for the stars is an understatement.

Astrophysicist Matt Agnew has travelled the world following his passion for space, working on his PhD and trying to locate Earth 2.0.

While his search for other planets has taken him as far as Berlin, Sweden and Buenos Aires, his search for true love has now brought him home to Melbourne.

Raised in Adelaide and Perth, it’s not surprising that Matt’s a fan of AFL and also enjoys getting outside for a hike and hitting the gym. This gregarious 31-year-old is also a secret weapon in the kitchen and even dabbles in a bit of yoga.

One of four kids, Matt has had outstanding relationship role models in his parents who have been happily married for over 30 years.

In regards to love, Matt’s parents’ advice has always been; “You’ve got to give it a go, give it a chance and put your heart out there.” Well, he’s certainly doing that now.

After suiting up to be groomsman several times, Matt said: “Seeing my mates finding their partners, tying the knot and buzzing with laughter and love together, I realise I want that!”

Years of living abroad proved an exciting adventure for this smiley Bachelor, but now he’s back in Oz, a proud new homeowner and ready for the next phase in his life.

Matt is ready for that special someone to come along and he’s after the type of love that hits you like a thunderbolt, but doesn’t fizzle out. Sparks are important, but he’s also looking for a genuine woman who enjoys having a laugh, doesn’t take herself too seriously and has a real passion for life.

On becoming the Bachelor, Matt said: “I’ve got a real ‘do it once, do it right’ mentality so I’ll be making sure I throw myself into it, be vulnerable and enjoy what comes from that.

“It may be an unorthodox way to meet someone, but I think it’ll be a sensational experience and make for a cracking ‘how we met’ story!”

Network 10 Executive Producer of The Bachelor Australia , Hilary Innes, said: “Matt brings spades of old school romance back to The Bachelor . He’s a bachelor with natural charm and intelligence but with a definite twinkle in his eye.

“Matt will be a breath of fresh air to be around. He comes from such an interesting and different world but is still a humble and down to earth Aussie man who really just wants to find the love of his life.”

The seventh season of The Bachelor Australia will follow Matt as he endeavours to find his star-crossed lover among an outstanding group of hopeful Bachelorettes. With all the romance, fireworks and cheese platters you’ve come to expect and a brand new brainy Bachelor on board, this season is set to soar to new heights.

Hosted by Osher Günsberg, The Bachelor Australia is made for Network 10 by Warner Bros. International Television Production.

“cruelly”, “dumped” “last second” - an article worthy of the Daily Mail.

Well, NewsComAu is only a step above the sewer. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Even though 10 revealed Matt Agnew as The Bachelor officially this morning, an article is already inside The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald today. I reckon 10 provided Matt’s biography to the reporter as the basis of her article, but had it embargoed until midnight.

That’s common practice. It happens a lot with media releases.

Also, Ten posted the info on Ten Daily late last night.

This week’s Woman’s Day already has photos from the set, so filming must have begun at the same week Matt was announced as the new bachelor.

Real Love Makes An Impact.

The Bachelor Australia. Coming Soon.

Grab your popcorn and put your calls on hold as real romance makes its return to television in the highly anticipated new season of The Bachelor Australia.

Being an astrophysicist, it’s only natural that this year’s main man, Matt Agnew, is searching for a love that’s out of this world.

Living his boyhood dream and nailing a three point superhero landing, Matt’s meteor is landing him right where he wants to be – finding the one.

“I’m really hoping to fall in love. It’s the best feeling in the world! I’m at a stage in my life where I’m established in my career, I own my own home and finding someone to share my life with would make it the trifecta.”

Ready for that special someone, Matt’s after the type of love that hits you like a thunderbolt, but doesn’t fizzle out. Sparks are important, but he’s also looking for a genuine woman who enjoys having a laugh, doesn’t take herself too seriously and has a real passion for life.

On finding his forever girl on national television Matt said: “It may be an unorthodox way to meet someone, but I think it’ll be a sensational experience and make for a cracking ‘how we met’ story!”

For a look at a love that’ll hit you hard in the heart

I think that it’s a great promo. It is also vey refreshing that they have gone with someone new but at the same time I’m not sure that will draw in as many viewers.

Good promo. I think the new season will air on the same week as Australian Survivor.

I don’t agree I don’t think the promo is that great. He on the other hand is fine. Maybe one of the hottest bachelors.

I agree, it is a great promo, highlights what he does, ties in a little with the superhero trend at the moment, and all his promo pictures he has been really good looking but here he is really hot.
