Is this the first time they’ve done this? Aligning with their 7plus first strategy?

The closest they have come is fast tracking the final last year to 7Flix ahead of its main channel broadcast.

Glad to see Seven are fast tracking this.

I really struggled with the previous season (being back in COVID times) but the season before that (which was filmed more recently) was one of the best I can remember in years. So I’m keen for this one. They seem to be throwing everything at this season, bringing back old elements and putting in some new which will be fun to see play out.

Thanks for the heads up about surprises/changes. I just read up on the season and hopefully it means that airports return. In the past a simple slip up has cost contestants the race.

There will also be an encore on 7flix at 5.30pm Fridays from Friday 14 March.

The Fork in the Road is different from the detour as it is a mini-race. Only a set number of teams can compete in each task. Once each team successfully completes the task, it receives a clue telling it to go directly to the pit stop. There are two separate greeters for the respective task at the pit stop, and the first-ranked team from each task wins a prize (in the Hong Kong leg it is US$3000).

Although the pit stop for the HK leg was at the Art Park Terrace at the West Kowloon Cultural District, it seems that the post-race interviews were conducted at the Hong Kong Yacht Club off Causeway Bay.

UPDATE 12/3: two of the articles related to the HK leg, which will air on Seven/7mate on Thursday night.

CBS has revealed the final two episodes of season 37 will be shown on consecutive nights, on May 14 and May 15 (US time). That means they should be available on 7plus on May 15 and 16 respectively, due to time difference.

The final two episodes are now available on 7plus.

The finale was dedicated to Jack Walworth, who died earlier this year. He had been a producer on the original Amazing Race since 2006, and was also a producer on the Australian version. According to InTouch Weekly, Jack was a producer on shows like Expedition Unknown, Stringers: LA, Cops, Unexplained Mysteries and more. He has also worked as a director and in the camera and electrical department.

Also, the events on the finale did not happen on the same day. According to a post-race interview with Carson and Jack, filming had to stop on June 12 last year, after the first task in Miami due to torrential rain and floods in South Florida, and did not resume until two days later.

This season was one of the best I’ve seen. A great balance of likeable contestants with the obligatory nasty contestant, although this guy was one of the nastiest I’ve seen. From sulking when things didn’t go his way to belittling his wife, his behaviour was quite concerning.

From what I’ve heard - John & Ana have reflected on his behaviour since the show aired and he recently has been tested for Autism & similar conditions - so through that lenses, it is understandable how in a stressful environment like race that he cracked … a lot.

I don’t want to use that as a catch all excuse … but I think the intention to improve and learn is there from him, and I’m willing to give some grace his way and would be curious to see them on another season to see if they’ve learned.

CBS has announced season 38 will premiere on Thursday September 25, before moving to its regular Wednesday night timeslot from October 1.

The Australian broadcast dates should be confirmed in September.

EDIT: the new season will feature many former Big Brother US contestants. It will start in the Netherlands (where the BB franchise originated) before travelling across Europe, and finishing back in USA.

For the first time in The Amazing Race history, teams face their first challenge before even lining up on the starting line (at Hoorn).
