The Amazing Race Australia

The first roadblock tonight is ridiculous. This show is not survivor. Fancy having to wait for all the teams to arrive for the roadblock challenge to start. Stupid and irrelevant to the nature of the game.

Ohh and now we have Dolar whinging about driving a manual car. He is the biggest sook.

The next challenge (eating 20 Weetbix without being able to drink milk or water) is a clear product placement.

That Weetbix challenge is so dangerous.

Now a second roadblock on just a standard leg. They’re butchering the format.

The First Class Pass also made a return tonight. Looks like it would now be given to the team which arrived first at the pitstop of an non-elimination leg.

Is someone getting injured in every episode?

No but the Australian challenges are brutal, it seems.

Jaskirat posted on his Instagram last night there was a detour which was not shown on TV: crab racing and bogan games.
That’s how the producers were able to keep the episode to under 70 minutes. I would like to see this on 10play.

EDIT: found this footage of the unseen detour on YouTube.

Does this mean they are going to bring back another eliminated team? :man_facepalming:

It’s not really pre-determined if it’s been added in response to a particular situation though, is it?

Yet they had two road blocks. This is a dogs breakfast. Can’t they just stick to the oringial format in a one hour episode?

and reality TV producers lap this stuff up! They knew this guy would deliver…

I’m starting to wonder if he’s an actor. Talks himself up constantly yet struggles and complains on all the challenges. Reality tv gold, but almost too over the top.

Maybe he’s the one driving ratings up :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think people realising they don’t want to watch four and a half hours of mini-golf a week will be helping ratings too :grinning:

Deborah Wilson, who competed with husband Shane and had to withdraw due to Shane’s injured knee in last night’s episode, posted on her Instagram this afternoon:

Thank you everyone for your kind words. We were devastated that we had to leave but still so proud of how well we did whilst we were there. Getting to experience this together and how much fun we had was a win in our books :orange_heart::orange_heart::orange_heart:

Looks like the show may have set a new record. The teams transited through Cairns three times during the race (from Mossman to Gold Coast, from Magnetic Island to Fitzroy Island, and from Green Island to Darwin) without completing a detour or roadblock in the city.

With six legs completed, the teams had done literally a full circle of Queensland:
Newell -> Mossman -> Gold Coast -> Longreach -> Winton -> Longreach -> Townsville -> Palm Island -> Magnetic Island -> Green Island.

Sky-Blue and Jake will be waiting a while to go to Disneyland due to fact its still closed due to covid-19 and the borders is still closed

Apparently there is a NEW team joining the race tonight they are calling “The footy mates” (two girls).

What a joke.
