That’s Adelaide AFLW players Marijana “MJ” Rajcic and Chelsea Randall (club captain).
There is an article in the Adelaide Sunday Mail today.
So after a week or two of racing a fit and fresh team joins up with all the teams who are tired, sore and bordering on exhaustion. Not fair on the other teams and I highly doubt they’ll be welcomed with open arms.
This season is becoming a bit of a joke. We had an eliminated team return, a new team join, we have legs where people don’t race due to First Class pass etc. By the end I wonder how many teams will have run every leg?
Completely agree. It’s unfair.
I don’t really have a major problem with it, because what you have to remember is this isn’t a normal regular season of the show racing around the world, if it was I bet you wouldn’t have stuff like a first class pass & teams coming back etc, I’m just happy that this show is still on, given what’s going on in the world right now.
I agree 100%. Don’t care what they do as long as it’s entertaining. And IMO it is compared to the crap on 7 at the same time.
Chelsea and Marijana were on The Project this evening to talk about their participation in the show, hours after their team (Adelaide) lost to Fremantle by 30 points in this afternoon’s AFLW clash. Chelsea didn’t play as she is still recovering from concussion.
This show is turning into survivor/big brother. Ruining the format and vibe of the show.
I didn’t mind last weeks episodes, just caught up with them. But I do feel it has some very Survivor challenges. I think 6 episodes in QLD was a little excessive and their was no real thought process to the way they went from place to place. Not a huge fan of a new team joining the race either. Although, unlike others here, I didn’t shed a tear when the father and daughter left. They weren’t that great.
I missed some of the episode tonight so could someone please tell me what the girls were doing wrong with their food?
Thanks. I thought they must’ve been missing an ingredient.
I found it funny when the chef lady tasted the girls Laksa and yelled out “Holey Moley!” (aka the name of a competitor in the same timeslot).
This new team are going to be real contenders to winning it. Not only did they add a new team in midway but they added professional athletes. I just find it so unfair.
The Palm Island leg had the pitstop at the local Catholic primary school thus it must take place on a weekday. Also teams had to fly to Darwin, so the Queensland leg must finish at either Cairns or Brisbane due to flight schedules at the time.
The fact that Marijana and Chelsea managed to finish third on their race debut, would make even more fans unhappy.
I just don’t understand how the networks could possibly think that this is something that viewers would want. If a team quits or is injured just add in another non-elimination leg. It’s not that hard. This show is a race. Adding a new team of professional athletes almost midway through the season that would have a very good chance of winning this makes zero sense.
As long as the ratings don’t drop, the networks will keep doing these types of things. Another season high on Sunday. It is attractive to the casual viewers who aren’t necessarily super fans of the format.
I highly doubt adding a new team last night had anything to do with the ratings. It has to do with the competition that it was up against. Holey Moely has dropped significantly, Nine don’t have a usual reality and the Women’s tennis match in the time slot was not going to be huge with viewers.
I think you are more likely to see the impacts tonight as people were already watching last night, plus it will have stronger competition from the Australian Open.
That could happens. iirc The biggest loser always lost viewers when they pulled shit like this. And the main reason The Renovators was such an expensive flop was because of the chaotic format, viewers dropped off every time the format changed and gave them a headache.
Nice touch to have Darwin local Jerome (who finished second in last season of TARA with Jasmine) co-performing a traditional Larrakia smoking ceremony for the nine remaining teams at Mindil Beach in tonight’s episode.

I wonder if that is a network salary though. He doesn’t just do the amazing race. He has also cohosted shows like studio 10, appeared on the project, dancing with the stars etc.
