The Amazing Race Australia

They would have a path worked out that wouldn’t require isolating. Pretty sure with starting in QLD they could do QLD, NT and SA without any quarantine. They could even end in NSW without needing too either.

So there’s an added element of excitement as to avoiding corona!

Most of the borders are open and the Tasmania and south Australia are set to open soon. It will probably go QLD - NT - SA - TAS - NSW - ACT - VIC (depending on the situation)

That is great. Hopefully we see some more obscure places. Like the Riverland in South Australia.

Sorry about that. Hopefully 10 will reveal a little bit more details on the new season (officially) on its 2021 upfront this Thursday.

It actually would be a surreal time to end the show in Melbourne. Imagine them running around the CBD with it so empty. You could have challenges and pit spots in some really cool iconic places. It could be possible if the 5km rule lifts this week although I’m not sure they would be allowed at the moment though (or would be willing to take the risk).

Surely if they have only just begun filming finishing the series wouldn’t be for another month or so. I would also say the ending wouldn’t necessarily be in the CBD but rather the bushfire affected areas in Victoria or even the Grampians.

The US version of TAR usually takes around 3 weeks to film. It could be longer this season though as they will likely take more travel precautions and breaks between legs. They probably have a couple safer backup legs up their sleeves if needed.

They problay have the routes appoved by the various state and federal goverments

No doubt, it’s one big tourism campaign for Australia.

I would be surprised if various states and territories / tourism organisations aren’t partly or wholly funding the next series since it’s being done locally.

Beverley McGarvey, chief content officer and executive vice-president of ViacomCBS Australia and NZ, told News Corp that the contestants and crew were moving “in a travelling bubble”.

They quarantine, they get tested. Once they know the team and contestants are in good shape, then they move together in a bubble.

I guess they’ll be limiting the travelling parts of the competition, so teams will be starting all the new legs of the competition together.

Or the teams will depart every five minutes, based on the order they arrive at the end of last leg.

From MediaWeek:

Industry speculation that the adventure travel competition might be based in one state is incorrect said McGarvey. The show has spent its first two weeks of filming in Queensland, but there will also be stops in other states. “The only place we are not going to is Victoria. Not only are we going to many of the iconic and beautiful parts of Australia, we are also going on a road less travelled too.”

Because they have only just started filming!

News reported that filming started last week.

I wonder if WA’s conditional opening to some other states from November 14, will convince the producers to change the route so the show will visit the state before the finish line?

I doubt it. The route will already be planned.
