The Amazing Race Australia

That means we won’t see the new season until 2021 at the earliest.

I don’t think that is a bad thing. But I do think they should look at filming a domestic/NZ version later this year and launching it Q1 next year. It would actually be good for local tourism.

There are some great locations around Australia and some of those locations would force the teams to hire cars etc.

Perhaps use Uber or take public transport within major city or between cities.

ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand chief content officer and executive vice president Beverly McGarvey told Mediaweek the next season would be based domestically.

We realised there is no chance we could be doing The Amazing Race overseas this year so we are committed to doing it in Australia once the state borders open up. We had to produce it quickly last year and we are ready to do it again, noting it will be easier the second time around. After what we’ve been through this year, I think viewers would love to see contestants travelling around Australia.

The Amazing Race Australia Returns.

Are You Ready For An Amazing Adventure?

Attention thrill-seekers and jet-setters. It’s not too late to salvage your 2020 travel plans. The Amazing Race Australia is back and looking for teams of two to take part in the race of a lifetime - this time, around Australia.

Staying on home soil, contestants will explore the breathtaking beauty and intrepid adventures Australia has to offer. Will our teams scale the Sydney Harbour Bridge? Forage through Kakadu National Park? Count all the churches in Adelaide? There’s no knowing what Aussie adventures await.

Last year, our hearts weren’t the only thing racing when 11 daring duos bungee-jumped, kayaked, goat-milked and skydived their way across the globe in pursuit of the $250,000 cash prize.

From folding dumplings to chowing down on century eggs, the race was filled with twists, turns and tantrums.

Last season’s winners, newlyweds Tim and Rod, said: “ The Amazing Race Australia was the most incredible adventure of our lives. The race is an adrenaline rush like you’ve never experienced before and the memories will last a lifetime.”

Network 10 and ViacomCBS chief sales officer Rod Prosser said: “It’s fantastic that the next season of The Amazing Race Australia will be filmed entirely in Australia. This will be a welcome boost for local companies and the Australian tourism industry as the opportunities to integrate across a series which will explore some of the best places and products Australia has to offer will be made easier than ever.”

Host Beau Ryan will be back to wrangle the racers, guide them through each task and let them know their fate at each pit stop.

Beau said: “The experience will change you and your teammates life forever. If you’re looking to travel off the beaten path, all while having a crack at the massive prize, then give it a shot."

So, if you’ve got a packed suitcase but nowhere to go, and like the sound of a $250,000 cash prize, then lace up your sensible walking shoes, grab yourself an Akubra, swag and travel buddy, and apply today here.

Sounds better than nothing.

Last year it was called The Amazing Race Australia and wasn’t in Australia.

Why do they have to add “Australia” to the end last year ?

because its the australian version

To distinguish it from The Amazing Race Canada, The Amazing Race Vietnam etc

Seven’s version of the show between 2011-2014 was also called The Amazing Race Australia.

I’m looking forward to seeing the Australian locations. I think viewers will like this as I know a lot of people who are really excited about travelling around Australia at the moment. Hopefully it can get to air before the end of the year.

I know it’s similar but I think 10 should get the rights to race across the world or whatever it’s called and adapt it to race around Australia. I think that would be a great addition.

I don’t mind it being in Australia. It gives them a chance to showcase places that people might not normally get too (I’m thinking Broome, WA coast, SA and NT would be really good spots to do a lot of it). I just think a lot of spoilers will get out if there’s a lot in cities but yet again it would be fun to see them running around them. They could get around this by visiting cities later on weeknights or something. I remember when The Amazing Race Israel filmed in Melbourne, I spotted a clue box near my work in Carlton Gardens and waited for the contestants to run in (they actually held the clue box to the side and put it in place just before the first team arrived). They also did a cool task climbing around the outside of the Melbourne Star.

I downloaded season 2 during lockdown and it is absolutely one of my fave seasons I’ve watched of a reality show in a long time.

Look forward to the inevitable moment when the teams try to get into WA and/or QLD but get turned away due to their borders still being closed

(Yes, I’m being facetious)

That is a horrible looking green screen, and the glass sliding panels look awful too. Looks like a WIN News All Australian News backdrop, not a fan.

Beau is alright tho.

Beau was on Studio 10 this morning with lots of interesting details of the next season. 10,000 people applied in the first 24 hours of applications being open.

He said that they would have COVID safety officers with them the whole time and tend to go to remote areas. Probably starting in the snow, lots of Top End places, Broome possibly as well. Also, waiting for Queensland borders to open.

10, or specifically Studio 10 is useless when it comes to promoting anything digital or their website.

The link they provided, https://10play.com.au/theamazingraceaustralia doesn’t even work and loads to an error 404 page.

It should be https://10play.com.au/theamazingrace

Beau had it half right when he said they could apply at 10play.com.au/casting, but he missed the .au part.

How is that going to work? Will the cameramen have to be trained to become COVID-19 safety officers? Will they stand around as teams are completing challenges?
