Well given they said they are still angry with how things went down I don’t blame them for being reserved. I would be pissed if I had won most of the legs only to go out like that so close to the 250k.
I am glad Tim and Rod won as the othe two teams were weaker overall and would not even have even made it to the top 4 without Tom and Tyler’s help.
So the second best team won. It was such a hollow victory imo! Tom and Tyler won 8 out of 10 legs and end up with $1000. No wonder they were reserved at the finale. Noticed 10 didn’t have them on The Project, the nurses were on after their elimination last week.
And Chris it’s annoying that you’ve been labelled a “reality” tragic but I appreciate your knowledge of this show and others such as Survivor etc.
Yep, no surprise whatsoever at the order the teams finished in.
Did it bother anyone else that Beau jumped straight to “you’re the winners!” instead of the traditional “15,000 kilometres. three continents…” bit that Phil does?

“ The Amazing Race Australia has been a brilliant first season for us and is a show that really feels like it belongs on 10, it engaged audiences across all platforms and took us all on a genuine action packed adventure.
“I’d like to thank our dedicated host Beau Ryan for his enthusiasm and commitment, all our wonderfully interesting and entertaining contestants for their impressive efforts across the season, the excellent team Eureka Productions for being great production partners and to everyone at 10 for their hard work and passion.
“Congratulations to Tim and Rod on winning The Amazing Race Australia 2019 and taking home the $250,000 prize,” she said.
Network 10’s chief sales officer Rod Prosser said: “We had some brilliant commercial partners for The Amazing Race Australia . A big thank you to Bankwest, Tourism NT and Jetstar for helping us bring this season to life. We really enjoyed working with our partners to creatively and innovatively integrate their brands across the season.”
Thanks. I don’t know why I’m getting attitude for having an opinion. I know our version is different from the US but as a long time viewer if I think that some of the changes they’e made are unfair I will call it out like others have. The unfair U-turn vote that seemed intended to rid of Tom and Tyler was not the only thing. There were a lot of other factors too like grouping the teams up to depart close together after each pit stop, always putting teams on the same flights etc. All these things meant that it wasn’t really a race and they wanted to keep it as close and even as possible every leg.
Also does anyone else find it odd that Tom and Tyler only got a prize on 1/8 legs that they came first, however 3 legs that they didn’t come first there were prizes? It’s like they only wanted to give each team a prize once…
Such a shame that Viv and Joey didn’t take this out. The guys were always going to be the front runners once Viv and Joey were gone. Although I thought Jasmine and Jerome might have had an advantage in NT.
Maybe they did want to limit leg first place prizes to one per team?
The tasks didn’t really require any specific local knowledge, so it was a fairly even playing field.
I think Ten/Eureka did a pretty good job, but there’s room for improvement, which a longer production lead time for S2 should help address.
Oh, and hope you enjoyed the viewing party with Joey and Viv, Chris! How was the mood?
We finally saw the plane last night! Presumably because Jetstar are sponsors.
The NT News headlines was a good challenge - unique to the Australian version of the show.
And the booking desk and the tickets so it’s safe to say this was product placement at its finest.
Hopefully this link can be read without subscription. I think I’m with the producers on this one.
Seems most people wanted either Tim and Rod or Jasmin and Jermone to win. Poor Viv and Joey didn’t get much of a look in, but I thought they were a fantastic team and it would’ve been wonderful to see them win.
Who kindly reprinted most of the content of that article if you can’t read it
Thank you!
If they weren’t already married I would’ve agreed with you 100%, but seeing as they’re already married it seemed a bit unnecessary. They showed the beautiful declaration of love to each other and I would’ve been very unhappy if that had been edited out.
That was a great take on the traditional “race recap” challenge during the final leg.
I didn’t end up going as I got held back at work but I should see Joey tonight at my class, if not def will on Saturday so I’ll find out he he feels about it all! We all thought that him doing a finale viewing might have meant he was a chance but wasn’t meant to be.
if the bit about tom and tyler going on gogglebox and replacing adam and symon im sorry but i wont be watching , tom and tyler are sore losers and i dont care for the reactions to tv shows
Goggleboxers should be unknowns. If they want to do a short celebrity edition that’s a different story. Might be a good idea for four weeks in the middle of the year.
I am sorry but anyone would be upset at going out that way if you had dominated the race and then got sent home not through anything you did but due to a team which you practically helped carry to the final 4. Thank God we won’t have to hear I am doing this for my child again.
And plenty of other people would watch as they were clearly the most popular team with viewers.
they would be better off putting Tim and Rod on to replace the other two gay guys (Ive forgotten their names already)
