As someone who enjoys reality tv I haven’t been a watcher of The Amazing Race US or Australia but I am thoroughly enjoying this series. It got even better when “the influencers” went home! Now it would get even better if “the newly weds” did the same. I am so tired of hearing they are “newly wed” and the hand holding running to the finish etc. is giving me the *****. I would like to see Tom and Tyler win as IMO they are by far the best team but I wouldn’t be disappointed if either of Viv and Joey or Jasmin and Jerome won. Just NOT Tim and Rod! And before anyone thinks I’m saying this because they’re gay, well so am I!

I’m not such a big fan of the newlyweds either.
Anyway go Viv and Joey!! The best thing about this season has been seeing someone I know racing it.

If there is a 2nd season on 10 next year, hopefully there will be a race around 75% of the world.
It has to be a race around the whole world, either west to east or east or west. That means a visit to Europe plus North or South America will be a must.

I’d personally want to see some Latin America - I think the only time the Australian version has been to Latin America is to Cuba (in 2012) and Argentina (2014)
If I were to route a race, I’d start in Chile, go North through a Latin American, go across the Atlantic into the Nordic countries, and then work towards Australia via Cyprus, somewhere in the Middle East (Qatar or Oman), India, and Malaysia .

You’d think if they went to Europe they could much more easily cover more countries.
As far as tonight’s ep… What’s with all these vote U-turns before a leg? It’s not fair. It’s a race. If you are in first place you shouldn’t be able to get U-turned.

That’s what confused me. I can’t believe they don’t have the u turn before the detour. Stupid way to knock a dominate team out.
And yes they could’ve added Europe instead of going back to Asia.
Hopefully it’s this way because it was rushed and next year there’s more of a beefed up version. The ratings are solid for this time of year so should get a renewal.

I don’t understand this secret U-turn vote either.
So unfair!! Tom and Tyler did not deserve to go!! They completely ruined this season with U-turn secret votes. Tom and Tyler were first… they should have been able to U-turn not the other way around.
Anyway glad Viv and Joey are in the final. Someone I know actually in the finale!

Yep, I’m pissed off too, but I guess I’m just sulking! As has been said, it seems so unfair for the team in front to get U-turned. No benefit whatsoever for being in front.
To make matters worse all they walk away with is $1000 because only one of their eight wins had a prize.

This season feels so cheap and putting a secret U turn vote this late in the game clearly designed to knock out the strongest team is crap. Not even worth watching the final with 3 weak teams, 2 of which would not even be there without Tom and Tyler’s help.

There’s a great interview on the Herald Sun website with the boys, and clearly they’re still unhappy. I don’t know if I can share the thread because it’s subscription only, but I loved the comment below from Tyler.
“I’ve had a lot of laughs about the reaction some people have had about Tom and I being gay. That’s just the way we’ve always acted: You kick a goal in footy, you hug each other. I actually think it’s a pretty positive thing for kids in Australia to see you can act that way with your mates and still be a straight footy bloke. You can hug your mate, you can ask if he’s OK and change that idea of what masculinity is,” said Tyler.

Tom and Tyler deserved this. They’ve won and been the most consistent.
They should be really angry.
Not a single team in the finale deserve the win. Not one.
The producers forced the boys out. It’s disgusting.

Having the third U-turn of the series, on the second last leg, is so unfair. The US version normally has 1-2 U-turns.
Meanwhile, Ash confirmed she’s split with Sid.
