Why? Just goes to show why these people really go on these rality shows.
True, and I know they were advertised as ‘influencers’, but it showed their true intentions by making the comment. All about followers = $$$, rather than the race.
Oh dear.
Lucky I didn’t visit 10daily.com.au yesterday afternoon then.
10 daily constantly have spoilers in their articles. I don’t know who writes or approves to post these things. There was a pre-season article on the last season of Survivor interviewing Simon Black. The comments from him were clearly a post game interview and he made a specific mention of being there on Day 37. So I always knew he made it at least that far.
On Watermarks thread there is a 10 watermark showing Race to the Finals. Given the format of the show, how can 10 call the last two weeks of the season as the finals?
The final four episodes contain the final five teams?
Lat week, both episodes were in the top 5 programs in the three key demo groups.
Agree that 1/3 of the season remaining doesn’t really justify calling it finals when it’s a race with a number of legs left. It’s annoying but a lot of shows do it. Think of shows like Masterchef where they have a Finals week then a Grand final week. Then you have talent shows that have semi-finals, or weeks of “finals” and then a Grand final. It’s ridiculous but they all do it.
This show is stupid. Another non elimination despite the u turn. So the u turn would’ve been pointless. This is so poorly produced compared to the US version.
I’m still wondering what “the greatest comeback in Amazing Race history” was? So a team that got U-turned wasn’t eliminated on a non-elimination leg?? Cos that hasn’t happened a million times before! I was relieved that Viv and Joey were safe though.
I am sooo over these same desert locations. It looks like the same again tomorrow. Zzzzzz. Give us a city, or a leg at night or something. Something different!!
Also teams whingeing about missing first place by seconds when there isn’t even a prize lol. Plus if they ever get flights they clearly board the same one so it doesn’t matter what order they start in.
Yeah what was the point of the U turn?
Yeah you can really tell this season was done on the cheap. Hopefully next season improves.
“Teams will start at 2 minute intervals in the order they finished”. What the??? This is not a proper race, they are doing everything to keep it close.
I enjoyed the singing challenge tonight and thought Beau was very funny, as were the boys. The quiz was a good idea too, something that was more like The Mole than TARA. The OMG advert for the elimination was pretty underwhelming though. Typical hype!
With the final two destinations revealed (Thailand and Katherine Gorge in NT), a lot of viewers will not be pleased that this season would not be a race around the world. Rather it was a race around HALF of the world.
Doubt it. I know some people who had never seen an episode of TAR and thought it was a race around Australia.
These are the questions that were asked tonight.
They’ve done the same in the US version. I’d say they do it to create drama/tension when the u turned team survives and confronts their nominee/s.
I assumed I was missing something when Jasmin was upset that they came second to the boys. The newlyweds were clearly the best team in this leg, managing to come third despite being u turned and having to do both challenges. Jasmin and Jerome were ten seconds behind the boys, but had they u turned the boys, yes, they would’ve beaten the boys to the pitstop but they still would’ve come second because the newlyweds would’ve been way ahead of them.
That’s not the point. The Amazing Race isn’t a new concept and most of it’s audience is aware that it’s a race around the world. It’s been shown in primetime (both local and US versions) many times over the past 15+ years. The opening credits alone show snapshots of numerous countries right around the world… yet we basically got a season in Asia with 2 locations in Africa mixed in.
I find it baffling that they are going back to Asia next week. They could have at least gone to South Africa or something a bit different, given Africa has basically just all been in the middle of nowhere. The most recent US season (which also had 12 legs) went to 10 countries… we’ve been to 5.
I’ve still relatively enjoyed the season… there is just a lot that could be improved if it wasn’t done so cheaply. I think this season would have done much better than the average 500-550k viewers if it was faster paced, went to more countries, had more exciting tasks and had a bit more competitiveness for flights at airports etc. All things that make the race a lot more fun and exciting television. Going to some more locations would have been better promo angles too rather than focusing on things like the influencers “cheating” or making things up like “the biggest comeback in amazing race history” or the “shock elimination” angle.
