This is interesting. Do the US not currently have any restrictions on quarantine’s on incoming travellers? Given the USA is the most affected country in the world by the Coronavirus, it’s not a surprise that a lot of high profile players are considering opting not to compete.

I do wonder what will happen with the Australian Open.

Saw a head honcho over there say on the news “no crowds, but it’ll be on TV, and I’ll take that”.

A grand slam… No attendance!? :open_mouth:

Fingers crossed normality might’ve returned, might be lucky (as it amazingly was this year)?

A Grand Slam won’t be the same without the crowds but then again the players won’t have to wait for the crowds to be quiet between points

This came after Viktor Troicki and Borna Coric confirmed they had tested positive to COVID-19 as well. All three players had taken part in the Adria charity tour organised by Novak Djokovic.
Eurosport reports Dimitrov’s coach, Chris Gro, and Djokovic’s fitness coach, Marko Paniki, also tested positive for coronavirus.

He’s getting a lot of flack but I don’t think the tournament was breaking any rules or laws over there. The players chose to participate, people chose to attend etc. However this definitely makes an example of how cautious these sporting events need to be going forward.

The private party at a nightclub afterwards certainly didn’t help.

So looks like there is only a week break between the US Open and the French Open this year?
