Djokovic was only fined US$10,000 for hitting the ball at the lineswoman.
I think some people are being overly harsh on Djokovic for this. He is becoming an easy target with the media. Clearly he didn’t intentionally smash a ball into the lady, it was a light tap out of frustration that went wrong. We see players do that all the time and at the Aussie Open I’ve seen balls served into the lines people at much faster speeds. A fine and withdrawal from the US Open is more than punishment enough. Also his reaction afterwards would have been complete shock after all his efforts to even be at a Grand Slam in 2020 to end just like that. It’s easy to judge people but it’s a simple fight or flight reaction. It’s good that he apologised.
You can’t do that, no matter what your frustration is. He has form. He was warned about doing that in 2016 when he struck a ball boy.

Well done Dominic Thiem on his first Grand Slam title. Dominic Thiem became the first Austrian to win a US Open. Such a humble man where he displayed good sportsmanship to the tournament.
Such a friendly character, as evidenced at this years Aus Open
