Great reporting from Jonathan Lea tonight, pressing Bill Shorten for an answer:
Jonathan receiving lots of praise tonight on Social Media
If only every journalist did that when a politician refuses to answer a questionâŚ
During Ange Bishopâs live look cross last night in Qld, after she returned from her packaged piece it seems a bit was omitted from the start where she said a couple of lines and then said something to the effect of âstart againâ and said something different before wrapping it up.
as I understand it, it was a technical error and the bad take made it to air.
Off topic but do we know what is happening in regards to tomorrowâs Good Friday bulletin? Will it be national(and if so, whoâs presenting)or is it just going to be state based?
Going to assume itâs state based.
National tomorrow⌠as it has been for 20 years.
I always remember around 2001-4 on Good Friday, they use to play the local Sydney bulletin out nationally. Sydney stories, sport and weather. I donât think the staff in Sydney were told they were going out nationaly.
Meanwhile at just about every regional (never mind ABC/Seven/Nine metro) news service in AustraliaâŚ
Sorry, but it has to be said!
Gee, any regular Ten News viewers in the other states and especially Victoria with their own established Good Friday tradition (albeit primarily centred around another channel) mustâve really hated that, especially when this wouldâve been the era that Ten News Sydney presented bulletins from the Royal Easter Show!
Really? Thatâs disappointing.
It may have been for 20 years but hopefully that changes soon!
Probably Lachlan Kennedy or Nick Etchells will be presenting the Good Friday national bulletin.
If it comes down to 2 days a year (on top of the weekends) Iâd be very happy and could live with that.
Does WIN, Prime, and Ch9 do local news on Goodfriday?
Donât mind National Weekend and Public Holiday news and sport bulletins though I would like to see a State Based weather component of the bulletin.
I think there should still be local bulletins on Good Friday though.
To use the two most obvious examples of established Good Friday traditions which are very localised, Sydneysiders probably couldnât care less about the Good Friday Appeal (with all due respect to the cause) while Melbournians most likely wouldnât want to hear stories about crowds at the Royal Easter Show.
Judging by what Iâve read in another thread, Nine will still be running their regional bulletins tonight.
win will have local news tonight
I donât care about them.
to be blunt, that event is sponsored by Channel 7 and doesnât warrant bulletin leading live cross resourced coverage. A package or news reader VO is all thatâs needed from other stations.
Again, a package before weather - or bottom of the first segment. nothing bulletin leading nor live cross warranting there.
Lexington maybe not this year, but next year Ten should be providing local bulletins on Good Friday.
