That’s a complete rip off.
I wonder which set was made first ??
I can’t be exactly sure, but it looked like IndiaTV was using a different set in mid 2019, whereas 10’s set was launched in early 2019.
All things considered, it’s actually a pretty good knock off. Some elements look a bit silly, but they’ve done a fair job and found a set layout that works for them.
Just think, a foreign network has done a rip off of an Aussie set better than a certain Aussie network “replicated” their standard set for a certain regional O&O station
Too difficult to stand a reporter on the side of the Brisbane River and time them in for a 30 second live update with no overlay? Too difficult to stand a reporter on the side of a river for them to pre-record a 30 second update and overlay it in a Sydney edit suite for playout later? All simple cost effective solutions. I’m sure there is an excuse why it couldn’t be done though.
TVQ is similar with red background and NEW is yellow.
Love this but could they have possibly used someone a bit more connected to the local area? (Josh etc.)
Long time lurker… first time poster.
Wanted to share my appreciation for how this story was put together - Redirecting...
Anyone from Perth would understand they’ve hit the tone perfectly
Steven is definitely one to watch…
10 News First Signs Broadcast Partnership With The New Daily
Network 10’s 10 News First has announced a broadcast partnership deal with growing Australian digital news website, The New Daily.
The arrangement will see The New Daily broadcast 10 News First video news stories, news updates and breaking news on its website platform and distributed to its subscriber database, daily.
The 10 News First video content will be enabled through JW Player allowing both parties to commercialise the video with pre and post roll advertising.
Head of Digital News & Strategy, 10 News First , Rashell Habib, said: “We’re excited to partner with The New Daily and work together in delivering news as it happens, across multiple platforms.”
Similar broadcasting arrangements, with state-based local content, have also been secured for The New Daily’s sister sites in Adelaide (www.InDaily.com.au) and Queensland (www.InQueensland.com.au). All sites are operated by Solstice Media.
Solstice Media’s Managing Director, Paul Hamra, said its audiences were highly engaged, absorbing the site’s breaking news and commentary from journalists such as Alan Kohler, Michael Pascoe, Paul Bongiorno, Madonna King and Kirstie Clements.
“Our readers also want video content around local, national and world events to complement their online experience. 10 News First was the perfect partner as it does not publish its own digital news service.
“So, it is a win win for us and for the 10 News First brand to amplify its content to our news-hungry audience and for The New Daily to enhance its offering to readers.”
The New Daily has over 700,000 subscribers who engage daily with its news. It is ranked sixteenth on the Nielsen Net Ratings, with an online audience of 1.9 million.
The thing that makes this announcement bad is the fact that they even recognise their lack of proper online news presence
Still think this was definitely the way to go to leverage their news gathering services for additional revenue, since it’s clear their intention is not to return to having their own digital publishing arm.
This sentence is pretty damning. Why did 10 Daily close in the first place?
Damning?
They haven’t had a proper news website for years, with clearly no interest, resources or budget to get into this space to compete.
10 Daily was a vanity project for Bev, barely any integration to the rest of the news team and wasn’t sustainable which lead to its demise.
This is the best outcome for them, more reach for what they’re already producing and $$$ with an established and respected site.
Not sure what the fuss is about, finally someone in charge has done something smart and leveraged a realistic opportunity.
Kudos to Rashell from 10 and whoever else was behind this initiative.
Yes, most positive announcement I’ve heard for 10 News in a long time, particularly the local sites in Adelaide and Brisbane. InDaily has a decent readership and engaged audience, i think. Not sure about InQueensland.
Anyway - great outcome to boost the brand.
Interesting job ad, Executive Editor for the Canberra bureau. Possibly in relation to the court proceedings brought on recently, they’ve obviously decided they need someone in charge down there. The ad is not new, has been up for about a month now.
Something different on Tuesday during the closer in Perth.
