After The Project repeat, 10 aired a cooking segment of “Everyday Gourmet with Justine Schofield”. It stared at 11.47pm, and ran for approx 6 minutes. So random. Then The Late Show with Stephen Colbert began. I don’t know why showing a cooking segment was shown.

Apparently it’s like a time filler. Like on Seven’s multi channels with NBC Today cooking and concerts.

They used to do it with Studio 10 (all though the only S10 ones i saw were the exact same…), Doubt they do that anymore. And they only air after dark for some reason.

I’ve seen that done before. Obviously done to align the timeslots.

They can and have done it during the day although rare as the schedule has flexibility to chop ET up as required.

Im surprised that pre-midnight that they dont use a segment from ET. I guess an Australian cooking show might be cheaper even if it doesnt really fit in with the evening schedule

This filler was the first i had seen on 10, so I had thought. I now remember the Studio 10 segments shown as fillers. Thanks for the refresher. lol. I guess it happens from time to time at late, but very little are watching then.

I know they air a very shortened Entertainment Tonight during the day when reality shows have various running times. to fill in that gap in schedule.

Would imagine that since ET is topical, a cooking show would make sense as a last minute filler that they can just grab from the library, rather than having to find a segment from ET each day. Easier to have several cooking segments that don’t have to be updated.

They wouldn’t have the rights to screen ET excerpts whenever they feel like doing so. It would be an added cost so might as well pay that to a local production.

Even a Ten news insert would make more sense. To me this makes as much sense as if Ten aired an infomercial at 11:32pm if they had half an hour to kill. But then Ten has marched to its own tune for 33 years now with no sign of changing strategy

I suppose they don’t have Studio 10 to use as filler anymore which used to get used, last I noticed. I suppose they could still package up some of Ange Bishop’s entertainment reports and segment from midday news etc and use that as filler. Cooking might just be easier :man_shrugging:

Especially when you don’t have to update cooking segments, unlike topical entertainment reports.

Deal or No Deal Celebrity: Skye Wheatley (Season Final) is finally airing. On Tuesday 17 December at 7.30pm. Doesn’t look promising if it is airing at th is time of year.

This is the most new content 10 have had at this time of year in a long while. Whilst most of it isn’t of quality at least it isn’t endless repeats.

I thought the purpose of the series is to fill the gap’s between the major reality shows, so I wouldn’t say it is necessarily not promising, just that there weren’t enough gap’s in the schedule during the ratings period.

Might also create some more buzz around I’m A Celeb, given Skye won the last season.

No Disney movie. :slightly_frowning_face:

Unfortunate

There was some crossover with brands advertising during the show including NT Tourism.
